Channel Update

Hi all. Thank you for your astonishing support over this last week. Your messages of support and love have warmed my heart and revealed to me that my tiny channel actually matters to some people. With this in mind, I must confess that I feel like the luckiest content creator in the world due in no small part to having supporters like you. But alas, here's the update.

As of now, my video access on Youtube has been restored. But I have received no communication from Youtube. Despite this, I assume the restoration of my video access is a good sign. I'm thinking; surely they wouldn't restore my video access and then delete my channel. But given the absence of communication, I'm hesitant to celebrate just in case something untoward happens in the coming days/weeks. So for now, I'm cautiously optimistic that I'm out of the woods.

In the meantime, if anything changes, you guys will be the first to know. All I can say for now is that I'm eternally grateful for all your love and support. You have no idea how much all of your messages and comments have meant to me throughout this fiasco. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

TERRIBLE NEWS

Edit: To all those suspecting a scam, it isn't. I contacted YouTube myself because my video access has been suspended. I can't watch anything. I suspected it was bug. But the agent informed me that my channel may be terminated due to VPN usage. I informed him that I only use my VPN to protect myself online but alas, they do not care. The decision will be finalised in a week or so, according to the agent at least. No warnings, no strikes, nothing. Just termination. Ugh...

I've just received word from YouTube that they may delete my channel in the coming week. The reason? Use of a VPN. I had no idea that VPNs weren't allowed. But as of now, my video access on Youtube has been suspended and my channel hangs in the balance. I've worked my ass off for the past 6-7 years to grow this channel to 26k. I can't believe it may be all about to end.

Hey everyone,

I have bad news. My next video is in copyright prison. So despite working my ass off to get it uploaded today, unfortunately it won't go live until the copyright dispute is resolved. Things like this are out of my control. I assure you that my video satisfies the "fair use" doctrine so it should only be a matter of time before the dispute is resolved in my favour. The problem is, the copyright holder has 30 days to respond, so if they're slow about it, this video may not see the light of day for a number of weeks.

In a perfect world, I would upload an alternative video as a substitute, but it will take me another week or two to edit my next video. Apologies for the disappointment folks. I can assure you the wait will be worth it. In the meantime, I'll work my hardest on producing another video just in case this copyright dispute is not resolved in a timely fashion.
