Florida Gulf Coast 727

Most of our videos are going to be raw, minimal edit, in the moment 'home movies' without much prep or forethought. Shared mostly from our cell phones as we're just doing life in one of the most beautiful regions of Florida.

Hope you enjoy. ♡

We do have an awesome DSLR and JT is working on his drone operators license, so we'll try to expand into that realm while still keeping it real... real simple, and unforced, like we endeavor to live our lives.

So, from the wide open Gulf, shorelines, coastline, innercoastal waterways, rivers, swamps, and springs, we hope to show you some Florida hospitality. 😀

We love where we live and want to share it with you!

Stay Ocean Minded,

M & JT

Happy Friyay(!) from FGC⚡️727. Gorgeous morning. Mid 70's, low humidity here in Pinellas County, FL. Wish we could stay here all day! Heading back to the mainland for work, chores, and the doggos.

Monday Photo Dump. I just wanted to share this simple photo with you. How beautiful it was on the St. Joseph Sound a couple days ago. Glassy, gorgeous, and so calm.

We are east of the ICW and the pass between North Honeymoon & 3 Rooker Islands. What a spectacular morning on the water. 76 ° / 77% humidity. A day to fondly deposit into the memory bank.

Monday photo dump!

The High and Dry Grill is a fun place to grab food and drinks, people watch, rent kayaks, paddleboards, and small sailing vessels, enjoy watching the jet skiers, commercial tour boats, ferry's, private boats coming in and out of the pass to the Gulf of Mexico and innercoastal waterway, etc. You can also kayak a short distance across Hurricane Pass to Cadadesi Island or Honeymoon Island, or just hang out on the causeway beach areas! Unfortunately, no dogs allowed off the sidewalks on Dunedin Causeway or the grill/tiki bar, BUT it is a popular dog walking venue! 🐕 Ample parking! Locals and tourists alike love to hang out here for fun in the sun. 🌊⛱️🌞 | Located on the west end of the Dunedin Causeway just before the State Park entrance of Honeymoon Island, Dunedin, Florida. #dunedinfl #gulfcoast #honeymoonisland #caladesiisland #tampabayarea #pinellascounty

Happy Monday Photo Dump!

Aerial views of Hurricane Pass, Dunedin, Florida.

Hurricane Pass is my local favorite pass. It runs between Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island and connects the St. Joseph Sound to the Gulf of Mexico.

The Pass did not always exist, and it may fill in during our lifetime if we get a big enough storm!

Hurricane Pass was created by Mother Nature in 1921. A devastating Catagory 3 Hurricane hit directly in our area and split an island known as Hog Island in half. Yes, Caladesi and Honeymoon Island used to be one big island.

In recent years, it has begun to get more and more shallow in the Pass. Turning into a gigantic sandbar! In 2023 (about a month ago), the Coast Guard had to move some navigational channel markers and add some brand new markers to prevent boats from running aground in the ever quickly changing seascape/landscape of pass.

Will Caladesi and Honeymoon Islands become one big island again? Time will tell.

Nature is the ultimate BOSS.

If you have any questions about the Pass or surrounding areas, let me know in the comments below.

Happy Monday!

Let me know in comments if there are certain areas you'd like to see. The Gulf has been so kind and calm this past week. I hope you can soon visit and/or have been out embracing her beauty.

1st photo is facing NW. Three Rooker Island on the horizon while Anchlote Key is slightly visible further northwest.

2nd photo facing due west.

3rd photo facing SW

4th photo standing on northern tip of honeymoon island facing south. You can see a Gulf tidal pool, a bit of The Sound, and the sandy point in the foreground where The Saint Joseph Sound and Gulf of Mexico interplay.

5th photo is the pass between Three Rooker Island & Honeymoon Island from The Sound to The Gulf. Facing north from the tip of Honeymoon Island
