St. Paul Center
The St. Paul Center is a nonprofit research and educational institute that promotes life-transforming Scripture study from the heart of the Church. The Center serves clergy and laity, students and scholars, with research and study tools.
Our goal is to be a teacher of teachers. We want to raise up a new generation of priests who are fluent in the Bible and lay people who are biblically literate. For us, this means more than helping people to know their way around the Bible. It means equipping them to enter into the heart of the living Word of God.
We read the Bible from the heart of the Church, in light of the Church’s Liturgy and living Tradition. In this way, we hope to help people experience the heart-to-heart encounter that Jesus’ disciples experienced on that first Easter night, when they knew Him in the breaking of the bread: "Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us…while He opened to us the Scriptures?" (see Luke 24:13-37)

The Liturgy of Advent takes us out into the desert to see and hear the marvelous works and words of God.
We can lose patience in our sufferings as we await the coming of the Lord. John the Baptist knew that life was more than food, the body more than clothing. John did not complain or lose faith.
Even in chains in his prison cell, he was still sending disciples—and us—to our Savior.
We come to the Lord again now in the Eucharist. Already He has caused the desert to bloom and the burning sands to become the springs of living water.

Once God's chosen people were hewn from the rock of Abraham (Isaiah 51:1-2). Now, God will raise up "living stones" (1 Peter 2:5)—children of Abraham born not of flesh and blood but of the Spirit.
