Lighter Shade of Brown is a pioneering Chicano rap group known for blending smooth lyrics and laid-back West Coast vibes with Latin culture. Rising to fame in the early 90s, the duo, consisting of ODM (One Dope Mexican) and DTTX (Don’t Try To Xerox), created hits like “On a Sunday Afternoon” and “Hey DJ.” Their music brought Latin representation to mainstream hip-hop, paving the way for future generations of artists. LSOB’s sound is timeless, capturing the essence of SoCal life and Chicano pride.
