This channel is hosted by Dr. Jackson Gross, the Cooperative Extension Aquaculture Specialist at UC Davis in the Department of Animal Science. I provide science-based support to California's aquaculture practitioners, relevant State and Federal agencies, as well as the general public. My program's primary efforts are within California but my research & extension activities as well as collaborations extend to regional, national, and international partnerships. My channel's focus is to share with you the diversity of the aquaculture sector in California and beyond. Tune in for all things aquaculture fish farming, shellfish, recirculating aquaculture systems, fish biology, seafood, and aquaponics!

Hey fish, shellfish, seaweed, and vascular plant enthusiasts!!!! After a very necessary hiatus, I am back to producing video content. I have continuously been filming, and looking forward to the day I would return, so I have tons of aquaculture content to share with you all. I have several older videos to publish and lots of new stuff waiting to be edited, and just filming as usual when I'm out and about. If you have something you want to discuss let me know. Of course, you should expect more sturgeon and salmon. My lab has quite a few other interesting projects going on that include seaweed, hydroponic plants, crayfish, and abalone. I've also got lots of travel coming up, including a trip to Brazil to study arapaima in the next couple of months. Thanks for sticking around and watching.
