Whether you're still trying to get away from the narcissist or you're trying to move forward with your life after narcissistic abuse, are you struggling?
What’s holding you back from leveling up your life? 💔
For me, it was a serious lack of confidence, overwhelming insecurities, and intense fears, all complicated by C-PTSD.
But back then, I just didn't understand that I deserved any better. 😞
And who could blame me? I was taught that I was worthless from early in my life. This was later confirmed by my adult relationships.
But after spending years trying to figure out what was wrong with me, I realized that it was the company I kept.
I had spent too much of my life with people who couldn't or wouldn't validate me.
People who may have seen my value but felt compelled to hide it from me or to crush it.
And for a long time, it worked. Until I figured it out.
Narcissistic and toxic people have a way of stealing your identity and sense of who you are.
And when you embark on any journey, especially the journey to heal from narcissistic abuse, you might need to develop or redevelop your sense of self.
Trust me – I’ve been there myself 😓
But I made it to the other side - and so can you.
Here are the steps I took to find my confidence, beat my insecurities, and overcome fear:
1️⃣ Step #1 – Don’t talk negatively to or about yourself. And choose to spend less of your time with people who make you feel bad or sad more often than not. You're amazing for having made it this far already! ❤️
2️⃣ Step #2 - Stop worrying about things you can't control or change and focus instead on only what you can affect. Otherwise, you're just spinning your wheels and wasting your energy. You might be shocked at how significantly this will change your life.
3️⃣ Step #3 – ASK YOURSELF: Do you really believe what you think you believe?? Stop believing the lies that toxic people have told you about yourself and recognize that you are the only one who gets to define YOU!
As soon as you implement these simple tips into your life, anything is possible! You'll see positive changes before you know it, and you can get to the next level.
Let me know what you think, and please share any of your own tips here - you might just change the life of another survivor by doing so 💜

Ever feel like you're stuck in a rut?🤦
Like you're just spinning your wheels?
Trust me. I know the feeling - and so do most other survivors.
Sometimes, in narcissistic abuse recovery, we get stuck and feel frozen, like we can't do anything at all.
And the key to overcoming it for me? 🔑
It's so simple: do one thing.
Yes, I know, it sounds like it's TOO simple.
But hear me out. When I felt stuck over the years, I'd eventually permit myself to STAY stuck. And then I'd tell myself I just had to do ONE thing.
And that if I wanted to, I'd be able to stop right after that one thing. (For example, if my house were messy, I'd make myself clean off just one table).
And even though I allowed myself to stop at that point, often, that was enough to keep me going - that feeling of accomplishment would push me forward to do the next task, and then the next, and so on.
Seriously. But maybe that doesn't work for everyone.
Since I'm amazed every day when I connect with my clients and colleagues and interact with my support group members and followers on the various platforms, I have a question for you.
We all have so many struggles in common, thanks to C-PTSD and the related symptoms that come to us after narcissistic abuse - and I love seeing how other survivors manage to overcome them and make them their own 🙌
It’s like having an endless buffet of ideas, and I can’t wait to try and/or them all!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!
What do you do to stay ahead of the 'survivor slump,' as it were? 🤔 How do YOU get unstuck? Let me know!

Before you recognize the narcissist, you often think you're the problem. Can you relate?

🎉 🎉🎉🎉It's Self-Care Sunday!! I'm practicing self-care today! In addition to a little skincare and a pedicure, I’m planning to watch a great movie, and I will enjoy every moment with my coffee, teens, and kitties! ❤️
I have TWO QUESTIONS!
1. What are you doing to ensure you find time for yourself? }
2. Any movie suggestions? I’d love some new features.

🤗Are you struggling to get through the days lately? Maybe you just feel sort of frozen and stuck? Or you're depressed and can't quite get over the hump.
Listen, we both know there’s CLEARLY a viable reason - you've realized you are or were dealing with narcissistic abuse, and your world feels a little shaky right now. I get it.
Having been there myself, I am here to help you figure out what’s stopping you from going from survivor to thriver if you know what I mean!👇
👀 Reason #1: You're dealing with a trauma bond with the narcissist. There are a lot of steps you can take to break this, but it starts with recognizing that this is what you're dealing with. If you think you might be dealing with trauma bonding, take my free self-assessment right here: queenbeeing.com/trauma-bonding-quiz-are-you-trauma…
👀Reason #2: You were on a pink cloud for a minute, and now you've fallen off. In other words, you started to feel so good when you got away, and now you're inexplicably sad or angry, and you can't quite put your finger on why. Well, this is the pink cloud at work. You might not have taken the time you needed to mourn the relationship. (And I know, it doesn't FEEL like you should have to mourn a narc, but after having them in your life, you still need to grieve to move on). If you'd like, I can help with that; this was my own #1 mistake in recovery.
👀 Reason #3: You're still hoping the narcissist will come around and be that person you once believed they were. In that case, you have choices. You can continue on the path you're on, or you can choose to try to accept the truth. As much as I want to tell you otherwise, narcissists do not change. I have not only seen this in my own life, but years of research and working with our fellow survivors - along with many discussions about this topic with other experts, including psychologists who specialize in this area - have proven to me that narcissists just don't change. At least not for long.
Could any of these be why you’re having such a difficult time right now? 😣
Are you ready to try something new and switch it up? Tell me what you're thinking!
