Josiah should also be in OT, PT, Speech, seeing a Dietician & Nutritionist..all on top of the appointments he already has..
But with his 3 siblings & their appointments & extra curricular activities, it can be a bit overwhelming & it's already hard on a family financially as it is....
so we do what we can & limit what we do to enjoy the time we do have right now💪🏼💪🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🫂🫂❤️❤️

Update from the 3rd Pediatric Cardiac Catheter Procedure:

Without making it too complicated for everyone to understand, there were three ways that this procedure could have gone, & I couldn't be more appreciative enough, as with every decision they make, they Ensure it's the absolute best decision for Josiah & his little complicated heart ❤️🥹

Long story short, good news & bad news..

The surgeon who does the amazing work on his stents, Did find that the 2 current stents, in each of his pulmonary branch arteries, do have a good flow to them, So he did not replace them yet..
Now right after his stints both of his pulmonary branch arteries begin to narrow again right before they break off in a Y to both sides to the rest of his body and lungs..

With that being said, the surgeon did not want to place more stents in there and make it that much more complicated for his next open heart surgery..
He was going to attempt to balloon the arteries again, but again, these arteries are already so small and fragile, he didn't want to cause more complications for future...

****Stents are made out of something similar to a wire cage; they adhere to the arteries, & create that bigger space for better flow..more stents..more cages..less artery to work with..more problems..

He did state that the flow of everything is still about the same, both sides of his heart are working really hard to try to understand how to work properly, especially w/ being born with everything backwards...💪❤️

This means, thankfully we were able to go home the same night 🥹💪❤️😂 recovery was rough especially for the first day again ughhhh trying to keep a toddler from climbing, running, jumping, or over exerting himself in any other way.... Feels almost impossible 💀💀🫣🫣🤣🤣🫂🫂 But thankfully he is such a trooper, he acts as if nothing happened 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😂😂💪💪❤️❤️

This surgeon will take it back to his medical team, the rest of the surgical team, they will do a conference & voice all of their findings to one another, give their opinions to each other, and choose a plan for next OHS🙏🏼🫀🏨
So thankful for you all who are by our side🥹❤️💯😭

My first major surgery was at 2 weeks old & I'm on the road to my second Open Heart Surgery soon, as they will need to repeat the first open heart and replace everything with new parts, in a sense ❤️‍🩹🙏💪🫀❤️💙

Having truncus arteriosus, I will have to undergo numerous open heart surgeries and maybe a few caths as well, to keep up with my growth 📈🙏🫶 as my heart grows, the pieces that they have put in, will not. The patches, stents, conduit, will all need to be replaced to provide my heart and body with better flow 🏥🫀

Medication💊💉🫀🙏♥️💙

From the day I was born, I have been on several medications daily but at the moment I am taking 3 daily to assist my heart and body to work together more efficiently ♥️

Lasix "Furosemide" -Diuretic
This is seen with common congenital heart defects like a ventricular septal defect. Extra fluid in the lungs makes it harder for a child to breath, eat, and complete normal activities. Lasix alleviates this problem by getting rid of much of this excess fluid.

Plavix "Clopidogrel" - Anticoagulant/Blood Thinner
An antiplatelet drug that is prescribed to prevent blood clots. It keeps platelets in your blood from coming together and making clots. You may need clopidogrel to prevent future issues if you had a heart attack, stroke or certain types of heart surgery.

Aspirin - Anticoagulant/Blood Thinner
Typically, a daily, low dose of aspirin is prescribed for people who have a cardiovascular disease, such as peripheral arterial disease, or who have had a heart attack or certain types of stroke. It's prescribed in this form to reduce the risk of blood clots forming (we call this thinning the blood).

Day 3 of the "Conquering CHD Challenge"
Echo/EKG/X-ray day 🩻🩺

Everyday couple of months, we take an hour and half drive to my cardiologist & get multiple tests done to keep a good eye on things are I grow & be able to let my surgical team know when I am ready for another open heart surgery 🙏💪🫀

Honestly, I hate it! 💀🤣😅💯
As soon as Mom pulls into the parking garage, I already know where we are and I started balling 😂😭🥹🙏💙 I know eventually I will understand they aren't hurting me, just taking pictures of my strong heart, but darn do those things annoy the crap out of me...

***So no, Josiah doesn't like these visits or test days 😅😭💙

But we are extremely grateful for the nurses who always have a blast just getting vitals🤣💯, for the medical team who assists in getting all these tests completed so nicely, even without my cooperation sometimes 😂💯♥️, and for my cardiologist on these days for ending my day with normally just telling mom a whole bunch of medical terms and we get to go home most of the time😂💪😅💯❤️🫀💙♥️
