I've recently been made aware that Maria's Revenge was written by a victim of SA.

Firstly, to Ficticious, I sincerely hope life has improved for you tenfold and I am sorry for what you had to go through. People who commit actions like these unfortunately only exist to make life miserable for everyone around them, and it pains me to know that you were roped into that by some no-life pissant.

Personally, I still don't think the story is very good looking back. The SA was not insensitively portrayed but it confused me greatly, mainly with just how many people were involved and what their motivation was. Perhaps I don't understand it thoroughly enough because I haven't experienced it myself, but my opinion does still stand.

I mention this because Maria's Revenge is the first story I ever reviewed on my channel, and ever since the announcement, I've noticed people on websites such as Twitter and Fandom harassing/shaming people who thought the story was bad. That, or expecting them to change their mind because of the discovery, and blowing a gasket when they don't.

I didn't have to put up with any of my subscribers doing this, thankfully, but to the people who are thinking of going after someone else for this reason alone, I say: get the fuck over yourselves. You're not doing the author any favors by making out people who differ in opinions from you to be monsters. If you yourself changed your mind, perfectly fine, but don't assume the very worst.

Anyway, that aside, what do you all think of this story? Do you find it to be a beautiful vent piece or could it use some more time?
