🚨 Oxford Word of the Year 2024: "Brain Rot"🧠
In a world of endless scrolling, "brain rot" has officially been named Oxford’s Word of the Year for 2024! 📱✨
But what exactly does it mean?
Brain rot refers to the idea that overconsuming low-quality online content (especially on social media) could harm our mental or intellectual state. Think mindless scrolling and shallow content—sounds familiar, right?
This term has grown by 230% in popularity in 2024 as more people are concerned about the negative impact of trivial online material. It first appeared in 1854 in “Thoreau’s Walden” , but now it's more relevant than ever in our digital age.
What do you think—are we all at risk of brain rot? 🤔
Let’s talk about how we can avoid it!
