This is where I share my RC Model Aircraft builds and flying. Using CNC Hotwire Foam Cutting, 3d Printing and CNC Routing. I post videos when I have something worth sharing and as a personal archive. Hope they may be of some use. rcKeith
Check this out from Hobbild. I have one and it's very good. If you are serious about designing your own models, then you can't do much better than this.
ProjectAir have made a very good video showing how they used the foam cutter to build the wings for their ekranoplan. Do check it out, it's a fantastic use of the foam cutter to help build the largest RC Ekranopan(Caspian Sea Monster) in the world.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. I haven't made many videos in 2024 mostly due to health reasons. I'm now taking some medication which helps quite a bit so I'm going to make a few videos next year.
I've been experimenting with FluidNC which as you may know is an alternative to Grbl and GrblHAL. I have this working well on the bench and as soon as I can test it on the foam cutter and confirm it works without any issues I will release it. The main advantage is that it can use Wifi with a modified ESP3D WebUI. So you can use it on any device with a web browser, even a phone!
Many thanks for all your subscriptions and it's very humbling to think 6000+ of you watch my channel.
I have a few projects for next year and my lovely wife treated me to a Creality Falcon Laser Cutter. I've only managed a few test cuts so far but I will be looking to put it to good use in 2025.
Hi Guys Just to let you know I'm stepping back from YouTube to concentrate on my own projects. I'm nearly 68 years old and suffering from arthritis in my hands and knees so I can't do as much as I want. Making videos is very time-consuming and although I won't stop completely there will probably only be one or two per year. Hope you understand. Keith
32-bit CNC Foam Cutting controller. This is from Hobbild.com and has been sent to me for review very kindly by Stefano at DevCad. Ferdinando of Hobbild has produced a very impressive controller using the 32-bit Arduino Due which I shall be testing soon. I will probably make a few videos. This controller only needs to connect to the stepper motors and hot wire. This is almost a plug and play controller that uses DevCNC Foam to drive. Just connect it to your foam cutter and away you go. Hobbild also makes a foam cutter as well. Check the website hobbild.com and devcad, com for more details. It's going to take me a few weeks to connect up and produce the videos but I'm very excited to try this controller on my foam cutter. Please note guys I'm not being paid for this and it will be my honest review.
Hi Guys Check this video out by Greg. A new g-code generator and machine build. Very impressive G-code generation software is here. github.com/gregpinaud/PHOENIX
CNC Foam cutting like a 3d printer using a customized version of Marlin 2.0 firmware. No Windows PC is required to run the foam cutter. So far I've tested it on an Arduino Mega 2560 with a RAMPS board running at 12-volts. It should also work on the MKS Gen L board. You will have to use axes XYUV in your g-code generator. The source code for the firmware is here github.com/rcKeith/Marlin if you would like to try it. You will need an LCD12864 display. Here is a link to the one I used bit.ly/3puo0hc Please use with caution as I've only run a couple of tests. You need to be able to compile firmware for 3d printers to make use of this.
Happy New Year. This is a free g-code generator application developed by Greg. It looks very capable. I have tested the g-code in DevSim CNC Foam and all looks good. You will need Python installed on your computer to run it. But it will run on Windows, Linux and Mac. Greg has tested it on his machine and said it works fine. It has options for multiple panels, kerf and washout. If you are looking for a free application for g-code then give this a try.
