Some thoughts from my first book draft. My head won't always be aligned with people. I just hope they spawn more thoughts from you all. ❤️

My dad would have been 70 today.
46 felt so old as a kid and now being 35 with my sisters approaching his age, it's eery how young that is. Now that my dad would be 70 I reflect on the last 24 l years we were "supposed" to have. Makes me think more than ever to think about the importance of the quality in which we spend our time over the quantity.
The memories of my dad in my life now feel like dreams. I don't love that. And, even though my dads death made me grow up faster it also made me move with childlike playfulness. To not take this life too seriously. I know he was that when he lit up a room.
I'd be lying if I didn't say I was grateful for the 12 years we had. I'd also be lying if I didn't say there's a chip on my heart for the same catalyst. Because of my dads absence my family is closer. Our love and support is unbreakable. With love that cascades to the way I try to be with others. I can be a bit of moody pain in the ass but I've improved.
Life is a big dark comedy to me. The darkness has turned to laughter and taking this life by the balls. This podcast is an ode and a nod not just to my father but to my family, my friends and the reader. Either way, this one's for you, kid.

Thanksgiving can be a difficult day for those who carry the weight of grief. "They" say grief is love that has nowhere to go. I don't resonate with that. The love isn't gone. It's still there. Embrace the gift of time and know it's okay to be sad. Trust the possibility to reframe our perspective that there's beauty in the pain of grief. It's the price of love and a cost that's worth it. I still choose love. Sending love to those with an empty seat. Happy Thanksgiving. 🍁
