Just venting - drove to Tonawanda NY to write step 3 this morning and the test centre computers are down. Exam was supposed to start 30 min ago. The computer maintenance worker and the test centre staff are yelling back and forth between rooms to unplug and re-plug certain wires in an effort to reboot the system. There are more examinees than chairs in the waiting room and it smells kind of strange in here (stale bread?) 0/10 would not recommend for a Monday morning 😆
I made a video on this a few months ago, expressing my concerns that an additional year of training likely wouldn't help to address many of the concerns voiced by doctors and patients. In a recent vote by the CFPC, the decision to proceed with 3 year family medicine program has been halted at this time. I think this is great news, but how do you feel about this?
Both systems have their pros and their cons. I just completed my final video comparing the American and Canadian medical systems - feel free to let me know what you think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eakb1...

Now here's an interesting one to get some opinions on 🤔 In July 2023 a woman in Washington state was arrested and jailed for refusing to receive treatment for her tuberculosis - and was apparently seen on city buses during this time. Hey everyone :) Please feel free to share this around I've been getting a lot of requests lately to interview some more people on the channel from different backgrounds in medicine, healthcare and other professions - and I'd love to set some up 🤙
If you or anyone you know would like to come on Zoom and talk about their experiences in any of the following areas, please reach out to nxtgenmd2@gmail.com and we can set it up! (I usually take a few days to reply to emails so my apologies in advance)
Particularly looking for... 1) Different medical specialties: Rural FM, Anesthesia, OB, Surgery, Emergency Med, Pathology, etc 🥼 2) Other professions in medicine: PAs, RNs, NPs, Pharma Reps, Pharmacists, Dentists, etc 3) Doctors working in other countries: Australia, European countries, America, China, Japan, African Countries, South American Countries, Etc.
4) Medical students with difficult or unusual backgrounds who have something that they'd like to share with future students 5) Other new professionals: Lawyers, Engineers, anyone working in Silicon Valley at any of the major tech platforms
Just finished going through the comments of my most recent video: https://youtu.be/NLMviG4oDcs As a content creator, it really is an awesome feeling to see so many thoughtful comments and respectful discussion between everyone - especially on some heavy hitting topics. I've been pretty busy lately but just wanted to give a quick thanks to everyone for helping to create such an awesome community here on YouTube. You're all awesome :)
First week of residency done and dusted 😎 (My first month is Peds / FM and I'm not on call this weekend). Just a few updates for everyone:
1. VLOGS will be coming about once per month. If there's anything in particular that you want me to talk about during these videos, please let me know 🤙
2. Right now my schedule is gym, work, study, film / edit videos (late at night). I'll still be answering YouTube comments though so the best place to reach me is in the comments section - usually I respond en mass about twice per week.
3. I have a full whiteboard of video ideas to cover! So for this month I'm going to try my best to do 2 videos per week 🔥
