About me:
My name is David James Armsby. I was born in May 1996, in Scotland.
I was homeschooled and spent all my teen years inside, learning new skills and working on elaborate projects. This is when I learned to animate, draw, paint, sculpt, make films, etc.
All my animation and film-making skills are self-taught. I started animating in 2012, and through a monumental amount of trial and error; I managed to learn how to create original films on my own.
I went to study 'Art and Design' at my local college in 2015 covering fine art, still life, basic drawing skills, and sculpture. I had to start at the bottom of the academic ladder because of my lack of formal qualifications. I was far beyond what they were teaching, but I was going more so for the social and life experience. The one thing college taught me was the importance of sketchbooks, which has since become a huge part of my creative process.
I left college in 2019 and have since made Youtube/Patreon my full-time job.

I'm excited to announce that I will be speaking again at DinoCon 2026 in July, and I'll be premiering a brand new animated film too! :D
This new film will be the 11th episode of my Dinosauria Series and my presentation will be about how I created this little extra passion project. The two species featured above will appear in the film in smaller roles, but the main star of the film is yet to be finished. More information about the film will be revealed later.
Don't worry about missing this new Dinosauria film if you cannot make it to the event. Even though this film will be shown first at DinoCon, it will eventually come to Youtube just like the rest of the Dinosauria Series. It will be uploaded after the rest of Dinosauria: Volume 2.
DinoCon will take place on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th July 2026 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, England.

Ivan Duch just released a "Making Of" video covering his creative process bringing the Original Soundtrack for "Hunted by Moonlight" to life. I've had tons and tons of people comment about just how fantastic his music was for the film and I couldn't agree more! :D

DinoCon 2025 was an utterly fantastic experience. I expected it to be fun, but it totally surpassed my highest expectations.
Because I spend so much time working all on my own it's easy to forget just how many people love my films. In fact, it's very easy for me to forget that I have an audience at all, let alone a large and passionate one. I had never met a fan of my work before this event and it was genuinely life changing getting to meet literally hundreds of you, individually, over the course of two days.
That standing ovation at the end of my presentation was the highlight of my whole art career.

I wanted to remind everyone that DinoCon 2025 is just under a month away. I'll be speaking at the event, hosting an hour-long presentation about my background, my animation work, my Dinosauria Series, and much more.
I've actually never met a fan of my work before so I'm incredibly excited to finally talk to some of you guys in person! :D
The event will be held at the University of Exeter in England on August 16th and 17th. I'll specifically be speaking on the 17th.

This is a quick announcement to say that I'll be speaking at DinoCon 2025! :D
I'll mostly be talking about my Dinosauria Series, but I'm sure I'll speak a little bit about SAURIA too. This is the first time I've ever done anything like this, and I'm super excited. I've never met a fan of my work before in person, so I plan to speak to as many of you guys as I feasibly can at the event! :D

I always suffer from a huge amount of anxiety while releasing the first of a new project that I've worked on for months (or, in this case, years). The unanimously positive reception has been almost overwhelming in the best possible way.
