Sometimes a project starts as an inspiration sparked by the color and the feel of a yarn and an interesting stitch. Then, you cast on the stitches, begin to work and suddenly you see the project you never thought you would be making. And a week or two later, a corner of your whole is transformed and you can't stop looking at it.

My summer project is now off to a good start. Trying a new yarn, a new lacy stitch, and a new project form, too. Linen-Cotton blend ‪@knitpicksOfficial‬ Lindy Chain yarn feels so lovely for this summer project and makes for such a relaxing knitting evening time.

Each fiber maker has a special thing they rarely talk about. Here is one of my maker habits that I rarely share:
When a project turns to be totally not what I was hoping for, my first step is not to unravel but to see if I can create something totally different and unexpected from it. Here you see a sock project I sooo wanted to love turn into a colorful collection of kiss lock coin purses joining the original little purse I made recently. It was made in beautiful Palette ‪@knitpicksOfficial‬ yarn based on a lovely four season sock collection pattern but I just couldn't befriend it.... and looking at the little 👛 that I made a few weeks ago I decided to see what will happen if the sock shapeshifted into something else.

Current wip has been great fun. No pattern... free form knitting to experiment with left over Brava @knit_picks yarn from previous projects. The goal is to create a super beginner friendly piece for one of my upcoming knitting classes , but the joy for free rendering process brings side adventures and fun with arrows, colors, knits, and pulls. Can't wait to pull it together into a project for students to help them feel the joy of adaptable project patters. Brava yarn is such a great option for beginner work, too.

Sometimes the yarn I buy for a specific project arrives bringing so many inspirations that instead of starting the planned project I start making swatches and making a list of totally new projects to make.
The way colors gradually move from one to the next on Chroma ‪@knitpicksOfficial‬ yarn is so much more beautiful then I expected it to be. I love the way it knits much more than the way it crochets, but it crochets very nicely, too.

If you love these types of yarn you may want to look at the colors Chroma comes in. Today is the last day of the current 20pct off offer, too.

This wip has been such a good surprise. I started it with some reservation about both the pattern and the yarn, but the more I work on it the more I am enjoying both they ‪@knitpicksOfficial‬ Brava 500 yarn and the pattern by Brooklyn Tweed. It is the most surprisingly enjoyable single skein project I have made in a long time. 😄 yes, just one skein for the whole vest. 😉
Can't wait to finish and gift it to my partner-in-craziness soon.

February's knitting adventure in reds, whites, and pinks. I loved the way this project brought calm and joy to my mind at the same time during late evening knitting time. It stretched ts warm colors through the weeks of cold winter temperatures.
I just loved how the mini Stroll ‪@knitpicksOfficial‬ yarn skeins came together. Can't wait to wear this one soon.
