Movie & Video Game TV Spots

Welcome! I'm Tim Salmons from The Digital Bits.

This channel is devoted to archiving movie and video game release ads, as well as other items.

Studios are sometimes reluctant to hang on to their advertising materials or not include them when releasing DVDs and Blu-rays. These ads, as disposable as they may seem, are a part of pop culture history. They were used to get the public interested in seeing a film or playing a video game, and quite often, the way they were presented gave one the right or wrong impression. They're just as important as trailers and should be preserved for all to see.

It should be noted that is a channel for everyone. Nothing is out of bounds. Everything that's in decent shape is posted, regardless of genre and changing of political or social climates. Please be friendly, courteous, and respectful when making comments, but also enjoy and feel free to subscribe. New videos are added daily!

Hello my loyal followers. Happy new year! I hope you had safe holidays, and I hope you're doing ok in these trying times.

After some long thought and consideration, and a recent bogus copyright strike (which was the final nail in the coffin for me), I've decided to take a breather from the Movie & Video Game TV Spots channel for the time being. I don't know how long I'll be gone, but the time that it takes to fully prepare these videos, meaning to upscale and color correct them, and repair the audio, is simply eating away at me and other things that require my attention. I have very little time these days to get my various responsibilities in order, not to mention the storage costs of backing these videos up, but I need to step away temporarily. I still have a few of days worth of videos uploaded, and as long as Youtube doesn't pull this channel down, it won't be going anywhere; so continue to enjoy what's already here. I thank you for subscribing and being a part of this with me, but as I've been at this since late 2017 and I've only gone a single day without posting any videos, I'm desperate for a much-needed break. I hope you understand. Take care and I'll see you again soon.

Addendum: The copyright strike was taken down.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to drop a quick note and say thank you for being a part of this. We've reached 15,000 subscribers, which is kind of mind-blowing to me. I didn't think when I started this channel in 2017 that it would still be going, but here we are. Thanks so much, and we're not stopping here. I'll keep cleaning them up and uploading them if you keep watching them!

Hi all. I thought I'd put this to a little poll. I've uploaded a couple of ads today (which are not public yet) that use a certain word in their respective titles, and you can likely guess what it is. In all likelihood, Youtube could very well censor these ads or pull them down simply for using this word, but the bigger question I have is, would the folks who follow this channel be truly offended and upset by the use of this word, or other similar disparaging words? Keep in mind that when I'm posting something that may be seen as offensive, I do it from a historical, contextual perspective. I'm not here to voice personal opinions... that's not what this channel is about. It's an all-inclusive space, but I do respect the feelings of others, especially those who've been referred to this by this word in their lives. With all of that in mind, should I censor the titles of these films, or should I roll the dice roll and leave them as is? I would love to know what you think.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all of you. A couple of days ago, this channel exceeded 10,000 subscribers, which is mind-blowing to me, and I'm very appreciative of your continued support. When I started this channel several years ago, I really had no aspirations of it staying up this long. I expected (and still do) a Youtube algorithm to rip this channel down at some point for copyright infringement. Never fear though. All of this content is backed up in triplicate. Storage costs a lot of money, especially if you back up your files on various formats, including hard drives, flash drives, Blu-rays, and DVDs, like I do. That's why I have the option of donating to my KOFI on everything that gets posted. It helps to afford those things. If you have some spare change and want to contribute, a few bucks will certainly go a long way in helping (ko-fi.com/timsalmons#). If not, that's fine too. I'm just happy to have you all along for the ride. Thank you again and I'll keep posting content for as long as Youtube will allow me to do so. Take care, and if you're celebrating, have a great Memorial Day!

As we're nearing 10,000 subscribers, I was wondering what watchers of this channel are most interested in:

Hello everyone. I just updated some graphics and information on the channel. Nothing's changed as far as content. Things just needed a little spit and polish. Enjoy!
