The Perfect Camera Rig (for now)

After a few experimentations, I’ve built out the perfect rig for me, that fits most of my shooting scenarios. I’ll obviously keep modifying it and trying to make it even better, but this build keeps things nice and tidy, lightweight, yet functional!

1️⃣ Sony FX3 | My favourite cine camera! It’s light, packs a ton of features, and modular, able to be used as a small vlog camera or rig if put to be a powerful cine camera

2️⃣ Blazar Remus 33mm | This anamorphic lens is my new favourite lens to use, and has been glued into my camera ever since I got it. Great versatile focal length, beautiful image, amber flares that I absolutely love, and is built like a tank!

3️⃣ Tilta Nucleus Nano II | This wireless motor control wheel and motor allows me to control both focus and aperture on my lenses, and is super intuitive to use!

4️⃣ Rode VideoMic Go II | A super small shotgun mic that I use for vlogging, but also can be used on my camera rigs. It doesn’t require any batteries or have to be turned on, is small enough to not get in the way of the usability of the rig, and still gets you great audio

5️⃣ Kondor Blue Talon Top Handle | This has been my favourite top handle for a long time, and for good reason. It’s super comfortable with how it places your index finger to keep your rig balanced, and offers a ton of mounting points on it if needed!

6️⃣ Tilta Mirage Matte Box | A matte box that allows me to put square mist filters in front, and still have a VND system built right in. What more can you ask for?

7️⃣ Atomos Shinobi II | This 5” monitor allowed me to desqueeze my anamorphic image for preview, and still offers all the features I need in a monitor, including camera control!

I’m a little late to a 2025 post, but thanks for dropping by my channel! If you’re new here, my name is Kody! I’m a huge camera nerd and gym rat, with a goal of mine for 2025 to heavily invest in YouTube and make long form content my main priority!
