Muslims have been commanded with fasting during the month of Ramadan: "O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed upon you as it was prescribed upon those before you in order that you may become righteous (pious)." (Qur'ăn 2:183). Shaykh Sälih al-Fawzăn explains the primary wisdom: "The wisdom behind the legislation of tasting is apparent, due to His saying: " *..that you may become righteous (pious" because it prevents the soul from its desires and from eating, drinking and intercourse. These affairs lead the souls to heedlessness and transgression... fasting weakens and leads to piety and humility before Alläh." Then he mentions a second wisdom: "It reminds a person of his (or her) weakness and need of Alläh." This is because a person cannot survive without food and water, and these only come to him through the provision of Allah who has placed material causes and effects through which humans (and others) are sustained. Hence, all creatures are in need of their creator. Then he explains a third wisdom: "It reminds a person of the one who granted him the favour of food and drink and of whatever else He permitted for him." This inculcates gratefulness within a person who ought to be thankful for these favours. Then, he explains a fourth wisdom: "It reminds him of the condition ofthe needy and dependent when he tastes hunger and is afflicted with thirst. When he is touched by need, it reminds him of the needy and hence shows compassion towards them." As for the health benefits, then a Muslim is not motivated by them at all. They are secondary and are blessings which arise due to obedience to the Creator. They are not sought in and of themselves. Many non-Muslims have started to adopt the fasting of the Muslims (such as what is done two days a week for example for health reasons. However, Muslims are not motivated by worldly considerations, they seek piety and righteousness through fasting, desiring nothing but perfection and refinement of morals and character. You know, hijab isn't just about covering your hair or dressing a certain way, it's soo much deeper than that. It's a command from Allah, yes, but it's also a gift, a shield, and a reminder of who we really are. When Allah tells us in the Quran to wear the hijab, it's not to burden us or restrict us. It's to protect us from a world that constantly tries to define us by how we look. Think about it society's beauty standards are always changing. One day it's this trend, the next day it's something completely different. But with hijab, we're saying, "I am more than what you see, and my worth is in what Allah sees in me" The best thing is hijab shifts the focus from appearances to what truly matters, your character, your deen, your heart. It's like telling the world, "I'm not here for your validation. I'm here for Allah." That's powerful, isn't it? And honestly wearing hijab isn't always easy. Sometimes you feel judged, misunderstood, or even out of place. But that's when you should remind yourself that you're not doing this for them. you're doing this for Allah, the One who knows your struggles and rewards every little effort you make. So, when you put on the hijab, wear it with love and pride. Know that it's not just a covering, it's a symbol of your obedience, your strength, and your trust in Allah's wisdom. You're saying, "I choose Allah over this dunya." And that's a choice you'll never regret. I promise you.🤍🤍
