By MARK KENNEDYNEW YORK (AP) — Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Queen Latifah, Oasis, Sade and Joy Division/New Order will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, along with first-time nominees Wu-Tang Clan and the late Luther Vandross.The list was revealed on Monday night’s airing of “American Idol.” Artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before they’re eligible for induction. Nominees were voted on by more than 1,200 artists, historians and music industry professionals.Soft rocker Collins, who already is in the hall as a member of Genesis, has had such solo hits as “In the Air Tonight” and “One More Night,” and has earned eight Grammys, including album of the year in 1985 for “No Jacket Required.” Collins got in the first time he appeared on the ballot.

The NCAA has made slight changes to the punishment for targeting.

This fall, a player disqualified for targeting for the FIRST time during the season, regardless of which half of the game it occurs, may participate in the next game.

Any player disqualified for targeting a SECOND time during the season will be required to miss the first half of the next game.

If a player is disqualified for a THIRD targeting penalty during the season, the player will be required to miss the entire next game (no players were disqualified for targeting three times in the 2025 season).

Geno Smith is headed back to his first NFL home.
The Raiders are trading the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback to the New York Jets, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday, per sources. Las Vegas is sending a 2026 seventh-round pick with Smith in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round selection, moving up from No. 228 to No. 208 in the upcoming draft.
Pelissero added that the Raiders will be paying the bulk of Smith's salary to facilitate the trade and the Jets will get the QB while paying a little over the league minimum.
"Complete full circle moment back to where it all began," Smith, who was expected to be released, told Rapoport following news of the expected trade. "I'm excited to connect with my new teammates and coaches and everyone in the building as well as build a new relationship with the fan base and community."
The deal cannot become official until the new league year begins on Wednesday.
With Las Vegas widely expected to select Indiana quarterback and 2025 Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick of the 2026 draft, the Raiders no longer had a need for Smith, a quarterback they'd handed a two-year, $75 million extension in April. That deal did not work out for either side, of course: Smith was under constant duress behind a sieve-like offensive line, taking a career-high and league-worst 55 sacks, and threw a league-high 17 interceptions in 15 games amid a dreadful 3-14 campaign for the Raiders under coach Pete Carroll.

Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa plans to sign a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The move now will give the Falcons two left-handed quarterbacks, Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr., heading into the 2026 season.
Tagovailoa was informed Monday that he will be released by the Dolphins.
The Falcons entered the offseason in the market for a quarterback, with Penix Jr. recovering from a knee injury and Kirk Cousins set to be released before the start of the new league year Wednesday.
