Victoria Rixon

Welcome, and thank you for being here.

My name is Victoria—I’m a mother to four sons, a wife, daughter, friend, and midwife. I am The Honest Midwife, an NHS whistleblower who left the NHS on February 7, 2024, after a harrowing shift that became my breaking point. With only two midwives on Labour ward, high-risk patients, elective caesareans, an overwhelming induction list, a packed triage, no support, no meal breaks and a patient who laboured for 10 hours alone, it was undeniable: the system was beyond repair.

Maternity services are not just in crisis—they are collapsing. Staffing levels, safety, evidence-based care, and treatment have hit rock bottom. The statistics are damning: the system is failing, and the suffering it inflicts is beyond comprehension. Hospitals must now show transparency that to enter the building does not guarantee safety.

Despite thousands of emails, complaints, and legal challenges, those in power remain indifferent. Their inaction is complicity. Governing bodies, unions, management, boards, and executives all share responsibility for this deterioration and criminal harm.

The reality today is devastating. Outcomes for women and babies are catastrophic. Midwives are leaving in unprecedented numbers. There is little left to celebrate under the illusion of ‘trust’ within these NHS organisations.

As a healer, I recognise the profound importance of self-love. When you truly love yourself, the decisions you make will be in alignment with your well-being, safety, and authenticity. Choices rooted in love will always be the right ones, no matter what they are. In contrast, decisions driven by anger, fear, or emotional triggers are merely reflections of the internal struggles and desires seeking resolution. True alignment comes when we choose from a place of love, not reaction.

I whistleblew for women, babies, families, communities, friends, midwives, mca’s and my children and grandchildren for generations to come.

Love 💕
