Holy Family University is proud to announce the establishment of the EMS Training & Education Institute at our Northeast campus! 🚑

Designed to address the critical regional need for emergency medical providers, the Institute will offer stackable certifications from EMT to Paramedic, allowing students to enter the field in as little as four months. Supported by a $200,000 grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, this initiative will feature a dedicated EMS lab and ambulance simulator to provide hands-on, life-saving training.

Special thanks to State Senator Joe Picozzi and State Rep. Pat Gallagher for their leadership and support in helping us strengthen our community’s frontline defense and prepare the next generation of first responders.

Meet Alexander Corso ’26, a graduating senior in the Traditional Track Nursing Program who has made a lasting impact on campus life. Over the past two years, Alexander has served as a Resident Assistant, a role that has been central to his growth as a leader and mentor. His commitment to the Holy Family community extends even further through his active involvement in the Student Nurses’ Association, Habitat for Humanity, Film Club, and Campus Ministry, all of which allowed him to give back while building meaningful connections.

Looking back on his academic and personal milestones, Alexander shares:
“Throughout my academic journey, I have earned honors recognition across all semesters and recently received RA of the Year for the 2025-2026 residential year, an accomplishment I am incredibly proud of. Some of my favorite memories at Holy Family have been TigerFests—bringing students together for fun, energy, and school spirit. These moments created a strong sense of community and are memories I’ll carry with me long after graduation.”

Regarding his next steps in the healthcare field, Alexander is focused on his clinical growth:
“Following graduation, I plan to apply to a nurse residency program to continue developing my clinical skills and confidence as a new nurse. Looking ahead, I hope to further my education and become a Nurse Practitioner, allowing me to expand my role in patient care and make a greater impact in healthcare.”

Reflecting on the support system that helped him reach the finish line, he says:
“I am deeply grateful for my family and friends who have supported me every step of the way throughout this journey. I would also like to give a special thank you to Katelynn Adams and Troy Young for challenging me to grow, broadening my perspective, and helping me become a stronger leader during my time as a Resident Assistant.”

Meet Brianna Coates ‘26, a Biology major on the pre-physical therapy track and a captain of the women’s track and field team. Throughout her time at Holy Family, Brianna has been a powerhouse of leadership, serving as the president of Athletes Helping Athletes, a SAAC representative, and a student ambassador. She has also been deeply involved in Campus Ministry as a Synodal Fellow, a role she notes has been a meaningful part of her journey. By engaging in so many different areas of campus life, Brianna has truly grown as both a dedicated leader and an individual.

Looking back on her experience, Brianna shares:
“I’ve made so many meaningful memories during my time at Holy Family. I was able to start a club, get involved in Campus Ministry as a Synodal Fellow, and connect and collaborate with students from other campuses. I also had the opportunity to attend the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum and study abroad in Greece, which was such an incredible experience.”

Regarding her next steps, Brianna is ready to hit the ground running:
“After graduation, I will be attending Arcadia University to pursue my Doctor of Physical Therapy. I’m really excited to continue learning and working toward a career where I can help others.”

Reflecting on those who helped her reach this milestone, she says:
“I’m so grateful for my family, friends, teammates, professors, and the faculty and staff at Holy Family who have supported me throughout my journey. I especially want to thank Stephanie from Campus Ministry, who has been such a big part of my growth and discernment, and has helped strengthen my relationship with God. I truly wouldn’t be where I am without all of that support.”
