Welcome to my YouTube Channel! My name is James and I am an elevator enthusiast from the Detroit Metropolitan area. I also happen to be one of the first original enthusiasts to record around Metro Detroit and the surrounding suburbs. I joined the elevator community back in 2017 after watching a handful of videos of other people in the community. I was immediately fascinated and decided I wanted to be come apart of the community. I mostly post elevator videos here but other types of interest videos I post include Sirens, Reverse Vending Machines, Vending Machines, Tech/Mechanics, and Clocks. For more information about my videos, myself and my all my YouTube channels, check out my website. (Link on the main page)
Other Information:
Subscriber Specials - Movies that I release when I hit a certain amount of subscribers, the movie will be a normal video type I make and will normally be 45 min to 1 hour 15 min.
Vacation Movies - Movies I make when I travel somewhere.

Hey everyone! As of yesterday (Tuesday January 27th, 2026) I have finished posting my content from Southfield (except 2 videos that will be posted mostly likely later this year). I have 2 announcements and they are as follows:
1. I will be using new terms some new terms in video descriptions for buildings that have security and turnstiles. I have 3 short terms that I will write in my descriptions to briefly describe those situations and they will be written like this:
-Direct Front Desk: Security desk/personnel are located directly in front of the elevators in the lobby with a direct view of the elevators.
-Front Desk Nearby: Security front desk is located nearby the elevators in the building, but not directly in front of the elevator lobby.
-Turnstiles: Building has turnstiles present along with a security desk and access to the elevators is restricted.
2: Content from Oak Park began today, videos from there will conclude on Monday and then videos from Holly/Fenton MI will be posted. After those videos I will post some videos in cities that don't have as many elevators. After I finish uploading those videos, I will begin to upload the elevator videos I recorded in San Diego CA back in early 2023.
Thanks for reading and enjoy the new videos!

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Zoe @OhioElevatorsbyZoe over the course of a few days, Zoe and I got to do a bit of railfanning and elevator filming. We filmed close to 100 elevators during our time together in Dayton, Springfield and Beavercreek Ohio. It was so much and I’m so glad and blessed I had the opportunity to meet up with them.
With that being said, elevator content is returning to Zoe’s channel, so be sure to check their channel out for tons of great elevator videos!

Alright I have updated my upload schedule once again. I last updated it back in April earlier this year, and this new schedule isn't much different. Uploads on Mondays through Saturdays have not changed. The new changes are as follows:
Sundays are now double upload days with one video at 2 PM and the next at 5 PM. On the 1st Sunday of the month if I recorded a siren test, that will go up first at 2 PM followed by an elevator video.
The same applies for the 2nd Sunday if I recorded 2 siren tests.
The 3rd Sunday will feature a Hotel Tour at 2 PM followed by an elevator video at 5 PM.
4th and 5th Sundays will be 2 elevator video uploads.
Thanks for reading, take care, stay warm and happy holidays!
And if you made it this far, comment the words: Guide Rollers

Folks this is an inside look at the Howard Miller Warehouse in Zeeland Michigan. I made the 2.5 hour drive over here today as Howard Miller is closing their doors after 99 years of clock making and production. Stay tuned, there will be a video of the warehouses and a few clocks that I decided to purchase.
I had a great conversation with one of the workers at the sale who has worked for HM for over 30 years, really sad to see such an iconic clock company closing down along with the stories and memories that come with it. I plan to have the video up either next weekend or the following weekend.

Hi everyone, thank you for 10 years of video making on YouTube!! It was back on June 26th 2015 that I recorded and posted my very first YouTube video of a neat electronic deadbolt lock I saw at Home Depot. I’ve been watching videos on YouTube since 2014 but didn’t start creating videos until late June 2015. I can’t wait to see where I end up within the next 10 years and many more to come following that! Thank you once again, I’m very pleased to be sharing this huge milestone through my journey on YouTube!
Look out for a live stream tomorrow afternoon and evening to celebrate!
Also if you’d like to watch that particular video I posted 10 years ago, use this link to watch it: https://youtu.be/8YcLNHePyD0?si=9Bf_K...

Recently just returned from a trip to Las Vegas NV and St George Utah. Figured I’d shared some of the highlights of the trip. See the following for more info about each picture:
1. The original Schindler Miconic 10 panels and destination system in Las Vegas.
2. One of at least 15 US Soft Touch elevators I got to record in St George.
3. I had the opportunity to ride my first TK ISIS Elevator (NOTICE: ISIS refers to a model of elevator produced by ThyssenKrupp. It has nothing to do with terrorism)
4. Discovered an Otis Series 5 NEL in St George (3rd one I’ve discovered as a whole!)
5. A very nice US/Kimball Square Button in St George.
6. Got to ride my first Schindler 400A with regular HT fixtures in Downtown Las Vegas (Every 400A I rode before always had vandal resistant fixtures) And yes, HT buttons on 400As really do press differently than HT on 321As and 330As
7. The infamous “inclanator” elevators at the Luxor at the Strip in Las Vegas. These felt very weird to ride!
