Moïse Morancy made history as the first person in New York City to receive the Good Samaritan Award, presented by the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
The award was created after he intervened to protect a young girl in need of protection — an act of courage that became the foundation for an annual honor.
Moïse said, the real hero was that young woman who stood up for him when it mattered most.
