Lala Lajpat Rai was one of the most prominent leaders of India’s freedom struggle and a great social reformer, popularly known as “Punjab Kesari.” He was born on 28 January 1865 in Dhudike, Punjab (now in Pakistan), and laid down his life for the nation on 17 November 1928.
Lala Lajpat Rai was a strong supporter of nationalism, self-reliance, and education. He was an active member of the Lal–Bal–Pal trio, along with Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandra Pal. He played a key role in strengthening the Indian National Congress and inspiring people to stand against British rule.
He also contributed greatly to education and social reforms. He supported the Arya Samaj and was associated with the establishment of institutions like DAV Schools and Colleges. His fearless protest against the Simon Commission in 1928 led to severe injuries during a lathi charge, which later caused his death.
On Lala Lajpat Rai Jayanti, we remember his courage, sacrifice, and dedication to the nation. His life continues to inspire us to stand for truth, justice, and the freedom of our country.

🏆 Ranbir Singh Model School Students Selected for Qwan Ki Do World Championship

Jammu, 18 January 2026:
Students of Ranbir Singh Model School delivered an outstanding performance at the Qwan Ki Do National Championship 2025–26, bringing great pride to the institution. The national-level championship was held from 16 to 18 January 2026 at the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, Jammu.

A total of six students from the school participated in the championship and showcased exceptional dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship by winning three Gold Medals and three Silver Medals.

Gold Medal Winners
• Radhika – Under 25 kg
• Yugal – Under 53 kg (Senior Category)
• Tanuj – Under 32 kg (Sub-Junior Category)

Silver Medal Winners
• Jiya – Under 35 kg (Cadet Category)
• Shubham – Under 83 kg (Senior Category)
• Gunjan – Under 43 kg (Cadet Category)

It was a moment of immense pride for the school when Yugal, a student of Class XI (Humanities), was honored with the “Best Sportsman Award” in the Senior Category for his outstanding performance.

Furthermore, Yugal and Shubham have been selected to represent India at the Qwan Ki Do World Championship, scheduled to be held in Romania (Europe) from 22 May to 26 May 2026.

The students received professional training under the expert guidance of Coach Mr. Vishal Chaturbhuj (NIS, Taekwondo) and Lady Coach Ms. Shivani Kharb.

The Hon’ble Chairman, Mr. Hoshiyar Singh Gulia, and the Principal, Ms. Kiran Verma, congratulated all the medal winners and coaches on this remarkable achievement and extended their best wishes for a bright future and continued success at the international level.
