Hi I'm Rae (also known as Helen) I am an RHS award-winning artist and the creator behind Rae Campbell's Studio.
This channel is all about boosting your confidence as a watercolour artist, even if you are new to painting. Every TUESDAY I will upload a brand new video tutorial so that you can learn to create paintings that you can be proud of.
I will show you how to paint vibrant watercolour paintings using my proven technique, with easy to follow tutorials every week - using my learn as you paint approach.
You will learn how to assess colour, application methods to avoid messy overlays and how to bring your paintings to life, how to gain confidence with your painting with fast results. I will share with you how to rescue mistakes - we all get the 'watercolour wobbles' and it is a common mistake to start again - but it really isn't necessary

Hey everyone 💛
I wanted to take a quick moment to share something a little personal with you all. As many of you know, I try to show up here every week with something creative, helpful, or uplifting, but next week will be a little different.
Over the weekend, I met my beautiful sister Caz for the first time. We’ve been in contact for a while now, and even though we only just met in person, it feels like we’ve known each other forever. It’s been an emotional and beautiful experience, one I’m still very much processing and holding close to my heart.
So, I’ve decided to take a short break from uploading. I want to be fully present in this rare and special moment, and give myself the space to reflect, recharge, and soak it all in.
Thank you for always being such a kind, supportive community. I’m so grateful for you all, and I’ll be back very soon, refreshed, inspired, and ready to create.

A few weeks ago I made the somewhat controversial claim that I thought that stretching watercolour paper was a waste of time (hangs head in shame lol) - so, in light of the comments received, I decided to make another video using the method suggested (the wet method) to see if I was right in my claim - or was I wrong?
