Shri Gyan, a Godman from the future, rescues a one eyed cat after surviving an extinction level event and teaches it the laws of karma, reincarnation and ego assassination before being abducted by space faring aliens who are searching for the truth about life in the universe. He is shown other civilizations on distant planets and is appalled to see the same concepts such as greed, war, capitalism, crime and global warming. With a click of his fingers he wakes everyone up and it is the death of normalcy. He releases an army of mosquitoes to infect the universe with the nature of awareness and true reality. After doing so, he returns to his black cat, somewhere in the Himalayas and resumes his life as a hermit.
Today marks the 17th anniversary of my song Skipping Stones (18/03/08). I had originally written it in school as a poem with the title All You Need to Know; my one and only love song for this girl called Devina (I believe she is now married and with many children!) Shayan, Rift Valley's first vocalist, had come up with the melody and it just stuck after that. I can't believe how this song has survived the test of time and also still manages to change so many people's lives when they hear it for the first time! I remember how vulnerable I felt when I recorded it alone in my room on my Zoom H4. So here's to the power of eternal love. I dedicate this song to my parents and to everyone I have met in my life and have had the honour to love and spend time with.

The three tracks in the middle represent the soul journeying through the Void of Fright, sparking both peaceful and terrifying emotions in limbo.
'Be Your Guide' is the second single off Monody, and its final track. The song is about the final judgement and process of rebirth.

'Extinction' is about the moment when we cease to exist. It portrays an empty planet filled with what we leave behind and can never take with us. Neither a single nor part of any album, it is an existential loop lost in space and searching for a meaning. An analysis of individual existence in an unfathomable universe and the plight of the individual who must assume ultimate responsibility for acts of free will.
All recorded on a Zoom H4, 'Extinction' begins with the sounds of a campfire and the last song of the last Kaua'i 'O'o bird as it was heard in 1987 before becoming extinct. We hear a message from President Jimmy Carter included on a gold record sent to space in Voyager 1.
Another interesting fact about 'Extinction' is that there are no human voices used in the recording. The voice is Google Text-to-speech on my phone speaking. This gives the impression that artificial intelligence is all that's left on our planet.
