✋ Right Hand Movement for Ages 2–6: Building Strong Little Writers
Before children can write neatly, they must first learn how to move their hands the right way.
Here’s how I guide my little learners (ages 2–6):
✔️ Start with finger play and warm-ups — squeezing, rolling, and stretching little fingers
✔️ Teach gentle pencil grip — no tight holding, just relaxed fingers
✔️ Introduce movement through play — lines, curves, and circles
✔️ Use objects like dough, sticks, and sand trays to form shapes and patterns
✔️ Let them trace, feel, and explore before actual writing
✔️ Keep it fun, short, and engaging — learning at this stage should feel like play
When children learn through touch and movement, they don’t just write — they understand.
Strong hands today, confident writers tomorrow! ✨

UNDERSTANDING MONTESSORI STYLE 🌟
Many parents hear the word Montessori and wonder what it really means.
Montessori is a special way of teaching that focuses on the natural way children learn. It is built on the belief that children learn best when they are not forced, rushed, or pressured.
In Montessori learning, children:
• Learn by using their hands
• Explore with their senses
• Move while learning
• Work at their own pace
• Build confidence through encouragement
Instead of telling children everything, Montessori guides them to discover knowledge by themselves.
That is why it is called:
✨ Child-centred learning — because the child is at the heart of the process.
When children learn this way, they feel safe, confident, and ready to grow.
👉 In the next phase, we will clearly explain what phonics is and why it is so powerful in helping children read.

Little Learners Fun Activities
Hello, I’m Fatimah, an early years educator.
In this lesson under our Foundation Stroke for Early Writing Strokes series, we focus on the Left Curve, an essential pre-writing stroke for young learners.
The left curve is a curved movement that starts from the top and gently curves to the left. This stroke prepares children for writing letters such as C, O, G, and Q, and helps develop correct writing direction, hand control, and smooth pencil movement.
Children should practice left curves using large movements—such as air writing, board tracing, or sand play—before moving to pencil and paper.
Follow this page for more structured and stress-free early learning activities for children.👌

#HomeLearning
3️⃣ Right Curves
Before children can write letters and numbers, they must first understand and practice basic writing strokes.
👉 Remember: writing starts with strokes.
🎯 Objective
To help children understand and practice the downward stroke, which is the foundation for many letters and numbers.
Today’s focus is Stroke Down — one of the most important foundation strokes in early writing.
✨ Why Stroke Down Matters
✔ Builds shoulder and arm control
✔ Develops fine motor skills
✔ Reduces pencil pressure later
✔ Helps children understand direction (top to bottom)
🎨 Fun Ways We Practice Stroke Down
🔹 Air writing to build muscle memory
🔹 Board or wall tracing for direction awareness
🔹 Water tracing for sensory learning
🔹 Sand or salt tray tracing for fine motor control
🔹 Drop activities to connect movement with meaning
🔹 Pencil practice to emphasize direction and neatness
👉 Remember: don’t expect perfection. Progress comes with practice.
🗣 Teaching language we use:
“We start at the top and go down.”
Strong strokes today lead to confident writing tomorrow.
