Michael Turner In Session was an Australian hard rock outfit that captured the raw energy of the early 1970s Melbourne music scene. Fronted by vocalist Michael Turner, whose powerhouse voice gained him national fame, the band formed in 1970 when Turner joined the group "Session," which quickly incorporated his name. The lineup featured Phillip Stone on guitar, Paul Olsen on drums, and Bill Sclater on bass. After relocating from Brisbane to Melbourne, Australia's rock epicenter, they signed with Havoc Records
