📢 Important Government Notification | Finance Ministry Update
The Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) has officially notified the interest rate on deposits under the Special Deposit Scheme for Non-Government Provident, Superannuation and Gratuity Funds.
🔹 Interest Rate: 7.1% per annum
🔹 Applicable Period: 1 January 2026 to 31 March 2026
🔹 Effective From: 1 January 2026
🔹 Scheme Covered: Special Deposit Scheme notified vide Notification dated 30 June 1975
This update is crucial for trusts, institutions, employers, accountants, auditors, and finance professionals handling:
• Provident Fund deposits
• Superannuation funds
• Gratuity funds
• Long-term employee benefit planning
