James Kai Wei Lau 劉愷威 is a multidisciplinary creative - writer, director, actor and hip-hop artist. Since directing his award-winning short film "Eviction" in 2021, James has focused more on making music under his Chinese name 'Kai Wei'.
A wordsmith championing his roots, he layers lyrically rich rhymes that explore deeply personal stories over jazzy samples and grimy drum loops, proudly infused with many different aspects of Asian culture.
