🧠 Adding to that, cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar believes Lakshya has all the qualities of a champion but suggests that mental training could be the missing piece after his near-miss at the Olympics.

🏆 Let’s take Iga Świątek’s example: At 17, she brought sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz into her team to help her stay mentally sharp and manage the pressures of tennis. The results? Świątek won her first Grand Slam at 19 (2020 French Open) and now holds five Grand slam titles (singles), ranking as World No. 2. She credits her first title to Abramowicz, stating she helped boost her confidence.

✨ In hindsight, Lakshya's decision to take a mental and physical break in April 2023 allowed him to return stronger than ever, clinching Canada Open Super 500 and advancing to US Open semi-finals. It seems that this break truly worked wonders!

🏏 With the IPL 2025 mega auction expected to take place in late November, there's already buzz about the retention strategies.

⏳ The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allowed all 10 IPL teams to retain up to 6 players before the auction, with a deadline of October 31.

💼 Teams can retain a maximum of five capped players and two uncapped players, with a total retention budget of ₹75 crore allocated for the five capped players—approximately two-thirds of the total auction purse, which has increased to ₹120 crore from ₹100 crore last year.

💰 One notable change this year is the flexibility in retention costs. Previously fixed at ₹18 crore for the first player, ₹14 crore for the second, and ₹11 crore for the third, teams now have the freedom to allocate the ₹75 crore budget across their retained players as they see fit.

🤑 For instance, SunRisers Hyderabad might opt to retain Heinrich Klaasen for ₹23 crore, exceeding the traditional ₹18 crore cap for the first player, while adjusting the salaries of other retained players accordingly.

📝 It's important to note that regardless of how teams distribute the budget, the total retention deduction remains fixed at ₹75 crore. If a team exceeds this amount, that will be the deduction; however, if the total is less than ₹75 crore, the full ₹75 crore will still be deducted.

🎟 Additionally, franchises can utilize up to six Right-to-Match (RTM) cards based on the number of players they retain before the auction. For example, if a team retains four players, they will have two RTM cards available.

👎 He remarked that "a single Real Madrid match is worth €20 million, but FIFA offers that for the whole tournament." Having said that, Real Madrid has confirmed their participation. Why the discrepancy?

💰 The total prize pool is €2.5 billion, with every participating team earning at least €50 million and the winner taking home up to €100 million.

📈 Additionally, FIFA’s asking price of $100 million per sponsor is significantly higher than what top U.S. leagues like the National Football League (NFL) and National Basketball Association (NBA) charge.

💢 A major media company in the U.S., estimated the rights at just $30 million! Shocking? Besides, the European broadcasters are hesitant due to scheduling conflicts with events like Wimbledon.

🏆 The FIFA Club World Cup, originally the Inter-Continental Cup (1960-2004) featured champions from Europe and South America.

🔙 In 2005, their format evolved into a 7 team tournament, featuring champions of FIFA's six continental confederations and a host nation team.

🚀 In 2016, FIFA President Gianni Infantino proposed further expanding the tournament. Initially, a 24-team version was scheduled for 2021, but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, FIFA confirmed that a new 32-team format would debut in 2025.

⚽ The upcoming updated format will feature 8 groups of 4 teams, a structure more familiar to global football fans (32 teams) since it aligns with the famous FIFA World Cup structure.

📉 However, interest in the Club World Cup has declined significantly over the past decade - particularly among European fans - for more reasons than one.

⚔️ The timing, usually in December, often clashes with domestic fixtures, leading to lower attendance from supporters of Europe compared to South America, Asia, and other regions.

☀ The new schedule is now coming up in summer, in June. No wonder why!

🌏 Former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, now a FIFA official, explained the objective behind this transformation: “In Europe, we are lucky, but it’s important that we make football really global, and this creates a chance for other clubs to progress. This is the real target.”

🏆 From August 27 to September 1, Goa’s Athletics Stadium became a battleground for dreams. The event saw 𝟑𝟒𝟎+ 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 from over 𝟐𝟒 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 and 𝟐𝟎𝟎 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 come together, each with a shared vision—to make their mark in 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐌 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐀.

⚽ Iconic FC Bayern legend 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐫 and FC Bayern scout Francisco Quiñones flew down to personally scout and select the best Indian youth football talent.
