What if you had ₦1 million to invest in an artwork?

We started thinking about that question while looking through some of the artworks from a recent exhibition featured on Vascan for Business.

There were pieces at different price points, different styles, and with very different stories behind them.

And we thought: if we had ₦1 million to put towards one artwork, which pieces would we actually consider?

So we picked a few.

Not because they are necessarily the best works in the exhibition, but because they caught our attention and represent some of the pieces around that price range that we would recommend exploring.

This is also part of something we're intentional about at Vascan.

When an exhibition is hosted or documented on our platform, we don't want the story to end with simply putting the artworks online.

We want to help the work travel further.

That means creating more ways for people to discover the artists, learn about the works, and, ultimately, find their way to the pieces they connect with.

So, if you had ₦1 million to invest in an artwork, which one would make your list?

Swipe through and tell us your pick.

And if one catches your eye, you can explore the artworks and find out more about them on vascan.io

What if your next source of income didn’t require you to create a product?

What if you could make money simply by connecting the right people to the right artwork?

We’ve been thinking about what it means to make art more accessible—not just for the people creating it, but also for the people who love it, discover it, recommend it, and help it find the right home.

And something has been brewing behind the scenes.

We’re exploring a new way for more people to participate in the art ecosystem, create opportunities for themselves, and help artworks reach the people who are looking for them.

We’re still building it.

And before we take it any further, we want to hear from you.

Whether you’re an artist, marketer, sales professional, collector, curator, creative, entrepreneur, or simply someone interested in art, we’d love to know what you think.

We’re also looking for people who would be interested in testing what we’re building before it launches.

So if this sounds like something you’d want to be part of, fill out the form below.

Something new is coming. We’d rather build it with you than build it without you.

What happens when displacement, identity, and lived experience become part of an artist’s visual language?

This week’s Cre8ive of the Week is Aksanti Bafunyempaka, a Congolese autodidact contemporary artist, researcher, human rights advocate, and creative entrepreneur based in Kampala, Uganda.

Through drawing and mixed media, Aksanti explores identity, forced displacement, migration, cultural heritage, social justice, and inclusion.

His work transforms personal experiences into visual narratives of resilience, dignity, and hope—showing how art can become both a refuge and a powerful way to reclaim identity.

And if you're a creative building something worth sharing, your work deserves better.

From gallery conversations to workshops, exhibitions, partnerships, and community events...

We've spent the last few months doing more than showing up—we've been listening.

Every event, every conversation, every partnership, and every creative we've met has shaped how we think, what we're building, and where we're headed next.

Some of our biggest ideas didn't start in a boardroom. They started with a question from an artist, a conversation after a panel session, or feedback shared during an exhibition.

Here's a look back at some of the moments that defined this chapter.

Thank you to every organization, partner, and creative who has welcomed us into your spaces and trusted us to be part of the conversation.

This is only the beginning.

The second half of the year is going to be even bigger. 🚀
