Twenty-five years ago, in September 2001, 140 of us began our MBBS journey together at Kurnool Medical College. What followed were years of hard work, sleepless nights, and countless exams — a journey that, for me, continued through MD, DNB eventually leading me to Clinical Hematology.

I have fought many battles to become what I am today, and looking back, every struggle along the way was worth it.

Nearly 110 of us gathered for this reunion, including batchmates who travelled from abroad. Walking through the same college campus and reconnecting with everyone after all these years was a truly special experience.

Grateful for this milestone, and for every batchmate who has been part of this journey.

Spent a wonderful afternoon interacting with the students of St. Pious X Degree & PG College for Women as part of the Dr. KK Cancer Care Foundation’s health awareness initiative.

We spoke about thalassemia screening, anemia, blood cancers, their early warning signs, and simple ways to reduce cancer risk through healthy lifestyle choices. I was impressed by how engaged the students were and by their knowledge of anemia and iron-rich nutrition. Their questions made the session truly enjoyable.

As part of the program, we screened nearly 150 women for anemia, and around 30% were found to be anemic. Each participant received guidance on the next steps. My sincere thanks to Core Diagnostics for supporting this screening initiative.

When we educate young women, we empower families and communities to recognize symptoms early and seek timely care.

Thank you to the students and faculty for the warm welcome. Looking forward to many more such awareness programs.

Back from the Global CAR-T Summit 2026, Vapi. It was a privilege to witness the launch of India’s 3rd Generation CAR-T platform and learn from experts in cellular therapy. As CAR-T becomes an important part of our practice, meetings like these help us stay updated and provide better care to our patients. It was also great meeting old friends and colleagues again.

One thought stayed with me throughout the meeting: CAR-T should not be available only to a few. It has the potential to change many lives, but for most patients, the cost is still a major challenge.

I hope we continue to move towards making CAR-T more affordable and accessible, so that every patient who needs this treatment has a chance to receive it.

On this Doctors’ Day, I remembered why medicine is more than a profession.

Recently, a mother brought her young daughter, who had recovered from blood cancer, to meet me on the child’s birthday. She requested me to bless her with turmeric rice grains — a traditional gesture of gratitude.

I was hesitant. But the mother said, “She has received a new life.”

Some moments stay with you forever.

Not because of awards or titles, but because, for one family, your work became hope.

To every patient and family who trusts us during their most difficult moments — thank you.

Happy Doctors’ Day.

A meaningful and lively panel discussion today at the International Women’s Day event at Osmania University PG College, Secunderabad.

The session brought together professionals from medicine, law, public service and social sectors to discuss important aspects of women’s health, rights and empowerment.

I had the opportunity to speak about the importance of early detection of blood disorders in women, particularly conditions like anemia and other hematological problems that often remain underdiagnosed.

It was encouraging to see such active participation and thoughtful questions from students and faculty.

Grateful to the organizers and fellow panelists for a valuable discussion.
