Today, I made the decision to cancel my Suno subscription.

There are a few reasons behind this. First and foremost, every single output you generate on the platform - whether it's full tracks, stems, FX sounds, or vocals - now comes with new embedded watermarks. These watermarks automatically flag any song that uses them as AI-generated music, regardless of how much human input went into the final product.

Secondly, I've come to realize that I don't want to rely on AI sounds any more. I caught myself using it a bit too frequently, and honestly, I have way more fun creating everything from scratch on my own. There's a certain satisfaction in building something entirely by hand.

Thirdly, and perhaps most frustratingly, I think it's absurd that your music can get branded as AI-generated when you've only used 10-20% AI content in it. What's the real difference between using a human-made sample or loop versus an AI-generated one? To me, the line is blurry, but the consequences aren't. I don't want my tracks, where I've put in the vast majority of the work myself, to carry that AI stamp.

On the bright side, cancelling the subscription also saves me a bit of cash, so that's a nice bonus! 😄

I will admit, I'll probably miss the vocal generation feature - it was fun to play with, but honestly, I don't need it.

And with that, I'm proud to say that today I'm releasing my next track - a 100% original, human-made song for my new album.

Hope you enjoy it!

What do you think about "AI as a tool" in creative processes today?

I've been making music for about 8 years now, and I love creating from scratch - melodies, chords, basslines, arrangements, mixing, the whole process. It's what I enjoy most.

About a year ago or so, I started experimenting with AI as a tool - mostly for vocals and some sound design. It's been fun to explore, but I've also noticed that AI can sometimes add unwanted artifacts or make things sound less natural than I'd like.

I've had a few comments on some of my videos lately mentioning AI on tracks that were actually made entirely by me, so I've decided to be more clear about what's AI and what's not.

From now on, I'll include credits in all my video descriptions, like this:

- Composition and/or arrangement by me.
- AI used for vocal generation and/or sound design (when applicable).
- Mixed and mastered in FL Studio by me.

I see AI as a tool - not a replacement. I'll keep using it occasionally, but I'll also focus more on self made sound design in future releases. When I want vocals over my songs, I will have to use AI as I cant sing xD

I've got several projects in the works right now - including an album (or two) and lots of instrumental tracks without any (AI) vocals. And of course I will continue doing remixes from time to time, and I will probably post some stuff from VRChat in the future as well, as I love going to raves and share music with the community there. So you might see some VR stuff like avatar edits I've made myself, along with my music ;)

Thanks for listening, and thanks to those who gave honest feedback - it helps me grow. I'll make a separate poll soon to hear your thoughts on AI as a tool.

Oh, and here's a pic of one of my VRChat avatars I use - I'm a bit of an e-girl at heart, I guess 😆😄
