Ethan created Hello Road and started making car/travel videos as an excuse to go on adventures, make new friends, discover new things, travel to amazing places, and of course, justify his countless questionable automotive purchases. His infatuation with weird cars along with a shoestring budget often leads him to filling up his driveway with a brigade of terrible, failing hoopties.

Hello Road

Ok so I've got two more "boring crossover" reviews to post this year, and then I'll scale this back in 2026 to focus on cars that I'm hoping you'll find more interesting. In the meantime, here's a review of a perfectly competent and efficient 3-row plug-in hybrid! ➡️ https://youtu.be/dhhB5DMF03c ⬅️

Hello Road

New vid! ➡️ https://youtu.be/plU2WL_cqPU ⬅️ This week I’ve got the key to the 2026 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid. It's basically a RAV4 Hybrid in a fancy suit. And yes it has a CVT. Does it make sense for the "zoom zoom" company to offer this type of driving appliance? Check out my review to find out. :)

Hello Road

Hey y’all! I need your help!

You might be aware that I occasionally review “boring” new crossovers and SUVs. I have been doing this because I’m genuinely interested in experiencing all sorts of cars. And to be honest, these videos often provide decent ad revenue, allowing me to continue to buy dumb old cars and make videos about those.

But I am aware that a review of a new crossover doesn’t often align with what you’ve come to know me for. Most of the new car video views come from non-subscribers. And if subscribers don’t watch, the algorithm kicks my channel in the balls.

And honestly my new car reviews haven’t been all that entertaining lately. So I’m going to try to rethink how I approach new cars on the channel. Perhaps less time focusing on things like headroom and cupholders, and more about the experience and the emotion. Or maybe you don't even want to see new cars. If you’ve got suggestions I’d love to hear them!

In the meantime, I’ve got a couple more “boring crossover” reviews that will go live over the next few days. If you’re not into ‘em, do me a favor and give ‘em a like anyway so the algorithm doesn’t punch my channel in the face repeatedly.

Thx for your support! :)

Hello Road

New vid! ➡️ https://youtu.be/prWTswX5NT0 ⬅️ Please say ‘hi’ to my 1985 Dodge Mini Ram Van! My neighbor had owned this beige mini cargo van since the early ‘90s, and it hasn’t been driven regularly since 2015. I had occasionally seen it sitting in his garage, and I kept telling myself, one day I’m going to own that van. And now I do! The Mini Ram Van, introduced in 1984, was basically a stripped down cargo van version of the ubiquitous Dodge Caravan. Today let’s take an in-depth look at the exterior, interior, cargo area, and take it for a first drive!

Hello Road

New vid! ➡️ https://youtu.be/gQExzrr04mM ⬅️ I know, I know, yet another expensive midsize crossover! Somehow I had managed to go my entire life without ever driving an RX. So when Lexus let me borrow an RX500h F-Sport Performance for a week, I was interested to see what makes the RX so popular. This trim wouldn't be my first choice but I can now totally see why so many people buy these. Full review up now.

Hello Road

New vid! ➡️ https://youtu.be/UfDU5yUFQ-g ⬅️ I’ve got the key to the recently refreshed 2026 Genesis GV70! I'm not usually a huge fan of SUVs, especially expensive ones that few can afford. But during my week with this luxurious crossover, there were quite a few things that won me over. And it was a truly lovely vehicle for our little road trip to Legoland! Full review in the vid :)

Hello Road

New vid! ➡️ https://youtu.be/e2cLwSPNOe4 ⬅️ Today I’m working on my old 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ to make it a little less crappy! It still needs a top and a serious deep clean, but today’s focus is on improving the look of its incredibly dirty, worn-out floor. I’m going to clean it up and coat it with bedliner paint. While I’m at it, I’ll replace the old tattered seat belts with shiny new ones, clean the filthy wheels, paint the roll bars, freshen up and paint the door panels, add some seat covers, and more. Let’s do this!

New vid! ➡️ https://youtu.be/L34OUlWCJhg ⬅️ Less than 2% of new cars sold in the US are manuals. This week I've got one of them, a manual transmission 2025 Mazda3! Let's find out what this sporty compact hatchback is like to live with as a daily driver.

Hello Road

New vid! ➡️ https://youtu.be/UgkBLQoir0s ⬅️ The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is one of the most interesting new cars I have ever driven. This electric sports car mimics the sounds and characteristics of a gas powered performance vehicle, injecting some fun into the normally boring experience of driving an EV. It's also one of the most confusing cars I’ve ever driven, in terms of how I feel about it. Let's head out to one of my favorite canyon roads, turn on Hyundai's virtual engine sounds, and talk about this unbelievably fast, hilarious, and insane vehicle.
