There are currently 65.6 million forcibly displaced people worldwide; 40 million forced to leave their homes; 26 million relegated to poverty.

Overall, 455 million people were affected by conflict in 2017, alone.

TRT World Citizen aims to work with, and for, those affected by humanitarian crises around the world.
We don’t just report on the issues; we look to do something about them.

Our 2018 Signature Campaign, ‘Am I Not a Child?’, focusses on the 170,000 missing child refugees living under duress in Europe.
They face institutional violence, human trafficking, slavery, organ harvesting, and sexual exploitation.

Our aim is to raise awareness about an issue that affects us all, and hold those responsible to account. To influence European policymakers to alter their stances on child refugees and expend further efforts in transitioning them into society.

The rights of a child are sacrosanct – they each deserve the opportunity to be part of our future.
