Rachel D. Adams is a writer, a reader, a traveler, a gamer, a wife, a mom, and a part of the LGBTQ community.
I firmly believe we are here to help make one another's lives better. Therefore, this will always be a safe space.
My goal for this channel is to be a relaxed place to share writing advice, to hold writing sprints, to share promotions I and my fellow authors are part of. I'll also add videos about our books and life in general, including some gaming when I have the time.
If my content isn't for you, don't worry about it! Just keep scrolling, just keep scrolling!
I and my coauthors write ADULT urban fantasy, paranormal romance, fantasy, and horror. I and my gaming friends play M/17+ ESRB. Since there's not a rating system for books, I just wanted to let you know up-front that sometimes my content may include these subjects.

I am still working on the new platform and trying to decide if it's going to work or not. I plan on going live with sprints - 8PM - 11PM Eastern for the last two Sundays in the month of January. I wanted y'all to know, I'm still trying something.

UPDATE - now that I've rocked out my planner for January 2026 - I know I can begain my sprint streaming again the 11th of January! So look for more scheduled sprints at 9PM EST Fridays and Sundays. This is my next experitmentation... Fridays seem to be a winner and Sundays won our poll. So, if you can support me while I support all of us - FANTASTIC!
Also, don't forget about Under 1K Subs Marathon coming up in February! I may have some extra streams for sprinting the week of February 8th - 15th. If you are interested in co-hosting or even volunteering through moderating and chat hopping, let us know! FORM: bit.ly/4q31ytu
Don't forget, I'll also be starting the reading and promoting of our books and stories on my secondary channel @RachelDAdamsAuthor this month!

There are a lot of things on my mind after this year and after this month, in particular. Some of those things I may never discuss in public and some of them, I'll be touching on - as needed. Let's just say, I am rethinking where my focus should be right now and who I give my time to.
Some people, when they come to a point like this, they are able to make split second decisions. I find that comendable. Some people will drag their feet, giving the situation a chance to correct itself before slowly moving on. I can understand that kind of caution.
Me? I land somewhere between.
When I see something that bothers me, a silently withdraw. Once I withdraw, I am done with the relationship - the split second decision. Then, I consider everything, away from those involved in the situation. I need that time to reflect on the behavior that bothered me. I need that time to reflect on the reactions of everyone witnessing the behavior. Most importantly, I take this time for self-reflection. This portion of my actions is a modified version of the cautiousness.
Reflection is being cautious in what my next steps will be. I'm not waiting on the situation to correct itself, I'm trying to decide what my responses to people involved will be.
I lead with kindness. Harm none, but take no shit.
Anyway, I hope 2026 will be better for all of us. I'll post when I have Pop-Up sprints. The December schedule can't be kept in January, what with so many health appointments and other things going on. But I'll be around when I can be.

I'm still recovering, and as such, I'm going to take Monday to continue. I'm hoping to make a comeback Tuesday and the rest of the week as needed by having POP-UPS and my regularly scheduled affair of Sprints.
Look for my updates this week as I will need to make up for missing so many hours while sick. I'd love to have you around to hold me accountable and to celebrate our small victories with one another.
Happy Holidays!

My eldest gave us his cold. I am not feeling good and sneezing and blowing my nose constantly. I hoped the medicine would help but not so far. I'll let y'all know if tomorrow is a go or a no. Thanks for your patience! Have a good night!

Sorry everybody, but I got a massive headache around 4 pm this afternoon and it's not left. I cannot run sprints tonight. At this point, I'm hoping it goes away before tomorrow. Thank you for understanding.

Join me & my cohosts - Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 9PM - 11PM EST (unless I am traveling or unable)
😮I've reworked my streaming schedule so that I am holding myself accountable for articles and end-of-day clean-up that I have been letting go of for the last few months. Time to get hold of things. To that end, I'll be streaming sprints at night before bedtime. I hope to see you there!
I'll be using this time to stay accountable to a regular article writing schedule and then, those articles will become videos on the next go-round. I'm trying on a new schedule, and hopefully this will help me get the things done that everyone wants, while also keeping me from stressing out.

I'm doing some Fall-into-Winter cleaning. I plan on keeping this channel to handle writerly/authorly content. My new channel @RachelDAdamsAuthor will focus on my published work.
Concerning this channel, I have two questions for you.
The first question can be found here: youtube.com/post/UgkxYt3GBPWYovx6B4LDJmy-VCmOun_qj…
The second question is:
What kind of content would you benefit from and watch or participate in the most?

I'm doing some Fall-into-Winter cleaning. I plan on keeping this channel to handle sprints, writing advice, sharing non-fiction, research, blurbs, and critiques.
I am creating a new channel to focus on my authoring, publishing, marketing, and promotional journey. It's simple: @RachelDAdamsAuthor
Concerning this channel, I have two questions for you.
The first question is:
When do you need someone to manage sprints the most?

So, I've been rethinking the Authortube channel. Maybe I should do some explaining.
I stream sprints here because I use them and I enjoy them. However, I feel like there are plenty to enjoy from other creators. I can still do some POP-UPS here and there, but my consistency when it comes to sprint streaming has taken a huge wallop.
My doctors are trading out again and so my appointments are shifting yet again. So, having a consistent schedule is just not going to happen.
I have also taken this year to figure out what I want to focus on when it comes to this channel. I like keeping to updates and videos that focus on my fun and my writing - not really writing advice or only sprints.
I want to build my channel, sure, but I feel like that should come secondary to my writing and my focus on building that indie-author career I've always wanted. Author and Publishing Advice? There's so much of it. What works for one writer doesn't work for another. Things that worked a few years ago do not work now. Our world is changing and humans are changing. Therefore, the best advice I can give you is to be adaptable. But... I didn't come here to teach, I came here to write and publish.
What I've been doing is just not the way. It's a start. It's a foundation. But, it's time to adapt again. It's time to be practical about what can lead to success and what can be a time sink. I'll not be hosting content or sprints until I am ready. So, you'll see my schedule taken down.
I'll still be on Breaking the Block and I'll definitely contribute where I can here and there, but the main focus will be on my books, my worlds, and me trying to stay semi-sane in this world we're all stuck in together...
