Looks like AI content is actually winning! My latest video about AI music is kind of an anomaly. The video started off really slow. All the analytics pointed to a flop. Then suddenly it took off, and the number of new subscribers from it alone made it worth it. And I only lost 7 subs over it. So a net of 21 new subs. Thanks to everyone who subscribed. I'm not going to pretend that AI generated music doesn't exist or that it is inherently "bad". So maybe more content on that subject. I think it's worth exploring since it affects us as musicians and guitar players. If you like these types of videos, please consider subscribing.
This is hilarious...I tell people in the title if they hate AI they won't like the video...and they STILL get pissed and unsubscribe! LOL. I mostly made this video so I can make one next where I feed the AI lyrics from one of my own songs and see what the final song sounds like, compared to my actual song. Could be fun.
Gotta love Fender...Introducing the Vintera 3! What a marketing strategy...release a "new" line of guitars, that look like guitars they made 75 years ago. Then...increase the price each time by about 25%! Vintera's are now what Fender American's used to cost! And they're made in Mexico!
Firefly Guitars now available in the UK! Check it out. They put my ugly mug on their webpage! I'm right there next to Darrel Braun (A Canadian). So you have a Yank and a Maple Leaf representing Firefly UK! How cool is that.
So my video on the VST amp sim didn't go over too well, people made comments along the lines that AI "steals" code from people. So today I broke out my guitar pedal parts and made a working over drive circuit...I basically "stole" it off the internet. I mean, how does one build a completely unique OD circuit from scratch? Interesting how when human's learn or seek inspiration from other people, we don't have issues about them stealing intellectual property, but when AI does it, it's theft. I'm going to make a video about how I learned to make this over drive circuit and see how it goes. I suspect it won't do any better than the AI VST amp sim video. Unless I review a guitar and take it apart, my audience doesn't seem to be interested. What do you think?
Selling off a ton of gear. Ended up moving the studio back home. The acoustics in the room at my shop were terrible and I didn't want to spend a ton in sound treatment. So I organizing. New content soon. Got some sponsored gear coming and now that "Dry Guitar January" is over I'll be getting some guitars to review.
My music is finally back up on the streaming services, for what it's worth. Anyway, check it out, the artist is Jayce Allan, the album is called It's All Over But The Cryin'. If you have Spotify or Apple Music or Amazon (or whatever) it should be available on all of them.
Well...2026 is off to a great start! LOL. I guess this video touched a nerve in a negative way, and it wasn't meant to. Compared to some of my other videos, I thought this video was a little tame on the controversy or click-bait scale. I guess the message is clear...stick to reviewing guitars. Just give the people what they want. I guess I know what I'll be doing Feb 1.

If you could choose between a Solo Telecaster, a Squier Classic Vibe telecaster and a USA Telecaster which would you choose?
