Back to an old project.
I didn´t like the gaps between the wings and slats, too wide for my taste, so I filled them with `sprue goo`+ Revell PLASTO putty.
Love the Revell stuff, it´s perfect for small imperfections and easy to sand. Putty is applied liberally so it acts as a surrounding plastic protector during sanding. I settled for DA2 prototype paint scheme because decals for DA1 seem oversized to me. Why did I chose some old Italeri kit over newer and better ones? Guess I have a soft spot for Eurofighter with the engines borrowed from Tornado. Found some Testors acrylic greys in my stash, hope the paints will be airbrush friendly and resistant to masking.
Good morning, afternoon or evening where ever you may be in this wonderful world!
Something is being done, I don't know what's wrong with me ;-).
I'm not really a fan of wash, and I don't even have a coherent explanation. I did it anyway like everyone else. Planning to dirty it up a bit, fade the decals and all kinds of stuff. I read that some Mk V versions did not have wing tip lights, 1943 is tricky about that. Well, no lights this time if you ask me. Maybe you notice one detail? Yes, the guy who makes fuel tank plug died a long time ago 😇. And what doesn't exist can be drawn. I am not gonna scribe it, don`t wanna ruin it so close to the end. The roundels on the upper wings are too big, and the machine gun covers should go a bit over them - just to let you know if you ever decide to tackle this beast.
Feel free to extend the panel lines on the underside center part towards the tail. Afterwards you can brag that you are holding a 1/72 Tamiya Spitfire. Sweet dreams.
Seams check (again) & black basing in the process...
Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500 and Mr. Color Leveling Thinner (50:50) + One Shot grey primer (straight from the bottle). I prefer light coats and use Mr. Finishing Surfacer over Perfect Plastic Putty and One Shot grey primer over Tamiya basic putty to avoid chemical reaction.

Update...
I roughly applied Vallejo Dark Green 71.012 (sadly, its not suitable for fine work). AK RC288 RAF Ocean Grey will follow for precise result.
