Disaster Breakdown

Disaster Breakdown is an online education and informative series on Air and other accidents. We take a closer look at some of the most tragic events in aviation history.

DISCLAIMER
I am not a pilot. I do have some education in aviation, aerodynamics, and meteorology. However, my main background is in video and media production, that is what I went to school for. I have not and won't ever try to investigate or speculate about any incident. I collate sources that are (for the most part) publicly available, including official accident reports when writing my videos. Given the nature of these types of videos, there may come occasions where information could be false or misleading. I am but a one person team as I try to fact-check everything to the best of my ability. It is important that myself and viewers pick up on anything that could be wrong, and I will try and correct them as and when I can.
Thank you.

Disaster Breakdown

Hi Everyone! Happy November!!!!˶˙ᵕ˙ )ノ゙

So... update on the video situation.
A few weeks ago, we travelled to Norway to shoot some footage and to learn a little bit about the case subject of the next video, and also to visit a long dissused airport, which was really interesting. Also very wet and rainy, we got soaked hiking up to the accident site.

I say we because I've had considerable help from my Partner for this one, and she has been the most amazing help especially with getting some translation done of the accident report which is entirely in Norwegian.

The accident itself (Braathens 239), is... well... absolutely bananas. As the finer details became clear from translating Norwegian sources, (English texts on this case do not cover anywhere near this much detail), I was floored piecing this together. I genuienly can't believe what was going on inside this aircraft.

Progress wise, script is all finished and editing will commence in a few days. Right now I'm doing the voice over/narration and gathering all the simulator footage ready for that. I do need to shoot more parts in Denmark (this ties into the story, I promise) and yeah it's a whole thing. You should expect to see the video... Mid/Second Week of December.

In the mean time I have been active and posting updates in my new Discord Server. In case you missed it, here's the link: discord.gg/D2mp53W7xM

Thank you so much for your patience, and I will see you soon.

Disaster Breakdown

Hiii Everyone! Happy October!! ヾ(^∇^)
I'd like to give you a bit of a production update with where things are video wise.

You can expect the next video soon. I should finish a first cut within the next week and its really coming together nicely. As it stands its quite the chonker of a video too, at over on hour... somehow...

Slight Plot Twist!
We are actually working on two videos at once right now as scripting has begun and preparations being made for this year's December/Christmas video which will also include shooting on location in Norway, so I'm really looking forward to that. It is one of those ones which requires a massive translation of the accident report so I am working through that during my off time of the other video. Both of these I am excited to bring you but I'm really hoping to round off the year with my best video ever!!! 🧁

I will be back soon with another post. Thank you all so much for your patience and support.

Much Love.

Me: "I wonder what this one could be about?"

*Reads Report*

Me: "Okay, that is absolutely terrifying."

Seriously this is one of the most horrific cases I think I've ever looked at in all the years of making these videos, like... what the hell.

Disaster Breakdown

Hello Everyone!

I'd like to give you a little update on the next video as it is approaching completion. As it stands right now I have around 80% of the video done at this point. By my estimate, it should clock in at around 50 minutes, though this is subject to a few rounds of viewings and changes. I have just one last segment of the video to produce before we get there though.

Okay... so I thought this one was going to be a straight forward one. But it turns out its like really interesting when you break down the whole investigative process. Investigators looked at a lot of scenarios before arriving at the conclusion they did which by the way, I couldn't believe it when I read it.

I look forward to sharing it with you. I'll be seeing you soon.

Chloe.
