For those curious, there are 14 brand new Pikmin this month. 7 from the Mooncake set and 7 brand new Mahjong Tiles which you can see are the silhouettes below.

In addition, 7 old Mahjong Tiles are making a return, with symbols 東、南、西、北、白、発、中 which I’ve circled in red below.

The detailed website covering the upcoming Pikmin Bloom Tour in Kaohsiung, Taiwan this October has been published!

Event: October 11th - 12th (you can only participate on one day)

Like other Tours, participation will only be made available to those with a ticket that can be received by random drawing. If you’d like to attend, make sure to enter the random drawing before September 1st! (Winners will be announced on the 2nd). Unlike past Tours where you could invite 5 players, this time winners will only have 3 invites making it even more difficult to participate if you don’t win the drawing. Good luck to those looking to go!

Highlights this time:
Purple and Winged Gold Present Sticker Pikmin will be made available. This will be the third time the Purple Pikmin will be made available and only the second time for Winged making these two quite rare Pikmin to get!

There will once again be Special Spots to swipe (traditionally there are 12 at Tours, though this hasn’t yet been confirmed)

Unrelated to Pikmin, the Kaohsiung Hot Air Balloon Festival will be held along the Love River from Oct 10-12 making it a great chance to see while attending the event.

The usual event map and selection of Pikmin sun visors will be given here. New this time is a Pikmin fan!

A new Mii t-shirt for the Tour in bright yellow is coming! The featureless Pikmin sun visors in a 3-pack will also be available for our Miis.

A BIG change to Party Walk mechanics is coming on September 3rd! You will now be able to invite players to a Party Walk from your in-game friend's list in batches of 10 an unlimited number of times (don't worry, there will also be an option to decline and not get re-invited if you don't want to participate in a particular walk).

That means, it will be possible to get a group to snowball as more and more mutual friends are invited. Aside from Niantic's official Party Walks, last year we set the record for the highest number of steps in a Party Walk with over 5000 players and 900 million steps reached! We were just shy of the billion step goal, but with this new change, it just became completely feasible!

On September 3rd, Gianni and I will be creating a new set of Party Walks with the aim to go even higher than ever before. The walk will be set to the longest recruitment period and the walk to the longest duration in order to maximize participants and accumulated steps. Hopefully we'll smash through 1 billion total steps this time and break the record for number of participants.

When we share the Party Walk code on September 3rd, please invite as many of your friends as soon as you can (or else everyone will max out with 3 groups and it will bottleneck the progress). As soon as new invite slots open up, go back and invite more friends on your list. (We assume this will work pretty much exactly how the Bullhorn currently does). Let's Rock & Roll and Fly to New Heights!

9月3日、パーティウォークの仕組みに大きな変更がやってきます！

ゲーム内フレンドリストから、10人単位で何度でもパーティウォークに招待できるようになります（安心してください。参加したくない場合は辞退するオプションもあり、再招待されないようにすることもできます）。

つまり、相互フレンドが次々と招待されることで、グループがどんどん雪だるま式に大きくなる可能性があるのです。Niantic公式のパーティウォークとは別に、昨年はなんと5,000人以上のプレイヤーと9億歩を達成し、パーティウォーク史上最多歩数の記録を打ち立てました！惜しくも10億歩には届きませんでしたが、今回の新しい仕組みでついに完全に実現可能になりました！

9月3日、Gianni と私は新しいパーティウォークを立ち上げ、これまで以上に高みを目指します。参加者数と歩数を最大化するために、募集期間を最長に設定し、歩行期間も最長に設定します。今回は合計10億歩を突破し、参加者数の記録を更新できることを願っています。

パーティウォークのコードを9月3日に共有しますので、できるだけ早くできるだけ多くのフレンドを招待してください！（そうしないと、みんなが3グループで上限に達してしまい、進行がボトルネックになります）。新しい招待枠が空いたら、再度リストからフレンドを招待してください。（仕組みは現在のブルホーンとほぼ同じだと予想しています）。

If you've been putting off your trip to Japan, now's the time! Sendai is easy to reach from Tokyo and is gorgeous in the fall. Come to the Pikmin Bloom Journey in September!

Japan is without a doubt the best place to play Pikmin Bloom and we think the Sendai Journey is going to blow away every other live event up to this point. If you have an upcoming trip to Japan or you've always wanted to visit, be sure to squeeze a trip to Sendai into your itinerary for Saturday, September 20 or Sunday, September 21 (or both!). Just a little update from us, hope everyone's ready for the upcoming Community Day weekend! I've been hard at work editing the JR Kyushu video which I was hoping would be out by now, but it has become, without exaggeration, the biggest video project of my life in terms of the editing. I attached a screenshot of the timeline. Each little rectangle slice is a video cut, image, or audio; all tiny pieces that together make up the entire video. It just keeps getting crazier and crazier with more layers as it goes on... If you're a fan of long videos, this one is for you, as it will be our longest one yet!

That trip around Kyushu really meant a lot to us. I've been going all out this time on special effects, animations, and sound design not only to make the best video possible for you, the viewer, but also to have something we will be able to watch years from now to re-experience the event like we did the first time (it was also just a massive collab with tons of small details we wanted to thoroughly document). We are trying to market this video to the general Pikmin fanbase opposed to only Pikmin Bloom players, so with any luck we will get a few more views than normal for all the extra effort :)

(It took me 2 weeks just to organize all the footage for this one, and I've been actively editing it since finishing the Seoul Tour video, so yes, I have officially gone insane)


ちょっとした近況報告です。みなさん、週末のコミュニティ・デイに向けて準備はできていますか？
僕は今、JR九州の動画の編集に没頭しています。本当はもう公開したかったんですが、誇張抜きで、編集面ではこれまでで一番大きな動画プロジェクトになっています。タイムラインのスクリーンショットを添付しました。小さな四角いスライス一つひとつが、動画のカットや画像、音声などで、全部合わせて動画を構成しています。どんどんレイヤーが増えて、どんどんカオスになっていってます……。
長い動画が好きな人にはぴったりかもしれません。というのも、過去最長の動画になる予定です！

九州をめぐる旅は、僕たちにとって本当に大切な体験でした。今回は視聴者のみなさんに最高の動画を届けたいという思いと、数年後にまたこの旅を追体験できるようにという気持ちで、特別効果、アニメーション、音響デザインにも全力を注いでいます（それに、細かい部分までしっかり記録しておきたかった大型コラボ企画でもありました）。
この動画は『ピクミンブルーム』プレイヤーだけでなく、ピクミン全体のファン層に向けてアプローチしていく予定なので、いつもより多くの人に観てもらえるといいなと思っています。追加の努力が報われますように :)

Finally lucked out with an event near Akita, this September we are headed to Sendai City for the 2nd ever Pikmin Bloom Journey!! (September 20-21)

After that, in October we’re planning a trip for the 2nd ever Pikmin Bloom Tour to be held outside of Japan (and the 6th Tour event in all), which will be held in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan! (October 11-12)

Luckily Gianni won’t need any special visas this time, so it will hopefully be smooth sailing ahead. We don’t really have any details at the moment aside from the date and locations, but personally I’m hoping for a Yellow Rosette Decor Pikmin for Journey.

Could they be brewing up some kind of Taiwanese-themed Decor like Kimchi’s debut for Korea? We will have to wait and see!

Is anyone able to attend either one of these events?? (Fyi Sendai isn’t too far from Tokyo if you’re planning a trip to Japan!)

Beach Decor are here, along with the start of the summer heat here in Akita! Not looking forward to the weather (already got a sunburn yesterday 😭), but the new Surfboard Keychain Pikmin are going to help make it a little bearable.
