LIGHTS OUT & Away we GOOOO! 🚥🏎️ Our ISELP journey has carried on into Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina Circuit & the marvellous Ferrari World! 🥳 🤩

Our students got the privilege to get an exclusive insider tour of the circuit on Yas Island 📍— that stands as a beacon of luxury & racing passion in the UAE 🇦🇪. From the drivers' briefing room to the pit lane 🏁, the race control room to the paddock areas, they deep dived into the intricacies of how motorsport is handled at the Yas Marina circuit, where Formula 1 annually hosts its season finale. 🏎️

And naturally, after the tour of Yas Marina, our students flocked over to the neighbouring Ferrari World 🏟️. Everyone was keen to ride the world's fastest roller coaster 🎢 — Formula Rossa — which reaches a speed of 240 kmph! 🤯 They also got to know the technology behind it, understanding Ferrari's passion for speed.

IISM recently launched the IMC report “Reviving & Promoting Indigenous Sports in India: Opportunities, Challenges, and Global Benchmarking”.

Mr. Amitava Pal, Associate Dean, IISM, authored the report, with support from Prof. Ayushi Dhakate, Mr. Ameya Uparkar, Sr. Ex., and the IISM student team.

The launch was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Ms. Sunita Ramnathkar, President of the IMC; Mr. Mahendra Kumar Chauhan, Vice President of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Mr. Uday Wankawala, CEO of AIC, Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini Foundation.

We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni and Ms. Rasika Kulkarni, Founder Director, IISM, for their vision and leadership in bridging sports, culture, and nation-building.

The 2026 ISELP has kicked off in style , as IISM's students & faculty members have touched down in Dubai, and are fully geared up for this adventure filled with learning & sporting passion. Firstly, they landed up at Topgolf Dubai — one of the city's most popular lounges with a virtual golf driving range, arcade games 🎳, and exquisite culinary delights!



Our young sports enthusiasts made the best use of this opportunity to try their hand on the virtual greens at Topgolf while also enjoying the lounging atmosphere before their experiential learning begins in the Emirates.

The Student-Exchange Program continued as students and faculty members from Leeds Beckett University embarked on a journey to experience India’s cricketing legacy up close🏏.

The day started with a scenic drive along Marine Drive, followed by an educational tour of Wankhede Stadium 🏟️ and a visit to the Mumbai Cricket Association Headquarters, which provided a behind-the-scenes look at one of India’s most iconic sporting institutions.

Later, the group headed to D.Y. Patil Stadium 📍 to witness the thrill of the Women’s Premier League match between UP Warriors and Delhi Capitals.

From exploring one of India’s iconic stadiums to watching a live match ⚡, the day blended sports heritage learning with a deeper understanding of India’s evolving sports ecosystem.

At the 1st ODI – India vs New Zealand, IISM Sports Management students gained invaluable on-ground work exposure through an internship opportunity with the Baroda Cricket Association, experiencing the operations behind an international cricket fixture.

As part of the Cricket Operations & Administration team, our students supported ticketing 🎟️, accreditation, branding, logistics, and security & safety coordination. They also assisted with overall stadium operations, ensuring a seamless experience for both spectators and officials. ✅

This hands-on exposure provided a real-world understanding of how international cricket matches get managed, offering them a genuine learning opportunity and a platform for credible networking.

Our international guests delved deep into India’s dynamic sports ecosystem, exploring the intricacies of top sports leagues & events through a lecture on the case study of Tata Mumbai Marathon 🏃‍♂️. Hands-on engagements like this brought them closer to India’s indigenous sports.

Later, the day culminated in a cultural evening celebrating diversity, energy, and the spirit of sportsmanship. This student-exchange program enriched perspectives on sports, sports business, and sports science, strengthening global learning and fostering pride in India’s sporting heritage.
