In his memoir, Jason shares the deeply personal story behind his decision to step away from a senior role in the White House to care for his 95-year-old grandmother during the final days of her life. It is a powerful reminder that leadership is not only about public service, but also about the values of family, community, and responsibility that shape who we are.

This photo was taken when I was 42 years old, outside my mother’s house in Little Haiti Miami when I was nine months pregnant with Ziv.

At the time, I had no idea how much life would change. I would lose my husband, later travel to Boston, rebuild my life, and eventually meet the man who is now my husband today.

The boubou I’m wearing was a beautiful gift from a dear friend from Senegal. 🌍

Bonjour Friends. Yesterday (Sunday)I spent the entire day at the Harvard Spring Conference from 8 AM to 6 PM.

Not because I need another title or career.
But because I am in a season of curiosity.

I want to see what happens to my mind when it is stretched, challenged, and immersed in higher learning.

Today, on International Women’s Day, I celebrate women who continue to grow, think, question, and learn.

Cheers to my mom and my aunt who came before me, on whose shoulders I stand.

Our Black History Month Service at Temple Beth El, Sudbury was powerful, thoughtful, and beautifully done.

As a member of the Board, I made sure this service happened — and I am deeply proud of how our clergy, Anti-Racism Committee, and temple community honored the contributions African Americans have made to this country.

Eight remarkable individuals were highlighted:
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Howard Thurman
Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray
Rabbi Sandra Lawson
Bayard Rustin
Ruth Batson
James Baldwin
Toni Morrison

Their stories matter. Their legacy matters.

It was an honor to deliver the d’var Torah. The message was strong, intentional, and from my heart.

Afterward, we gathered for Kiddush, featuring cornbread, collard greens, and sweet potato pie lovingly prepared by Esther — a beautiful way to continue the celebration in community.

Thank you to Temple Beth El for embracing excellence, culture, and education with such care and dignity.

After being widowed, my priority when I chose to marry again was simple.

I wanted a family man.
A kind, educated, accomplished, cultured, loving gentleman who would be a role model to the young men and boys in our family.
A man who would lead with love… and also be able to receive our love. I love my husband so much🌹
