Bonjour bonjour.
This is Mentor Cynthia.
Here I share my real life — marriage, romance, beauty, family, and personal growth. I’m a wife, a Harvard student at 55, a widows policy advocate, founder of a beauty brand, and a woman who believes it’s never too late to evolve.
You’ll find conversations about:
• Keeping love alive in marriage
• Living with grace and intention
• Returning to yourself at any age
• Building a beautiful life — inside and out
I am also the founder of The Cynthia Policy Initiative for Widows, a national advocacy initiative advancing legislation to protect widows’ financial and housing security across the United States.
This channel is for women who still believe in elegance, depth, and doing life well.
Thank you for being here. Let’s live beautifully — together 🌸

They say it’s hard to make friends when you get older. Nobody told me that going back to school at 55 would completely change my circle. Yesterday Cynthia, whom I met at Harvard and who just graduated, and I had lunch and spent the afternoon frolicking at Harvard. I am not complaining. 😂
I’ll tell you more about this particular building in another post, so stay tuned.
Who is the most unexpected friend you have made later in life? Tell me below. 👇

I am honored to be reappointed by Mayor Sisitsky to continue serving as Vice Chair of the Women, Children and Families Commission for the City of Framingham through 2029. Advocating for women, children, and families in our community is a responsibility I do not take lightly.

Ten years ago this month I got a phone call that shattered my world. My late husband died by suicide in Israel. Yesterday that same grief stood before a room full of people. I did not expect to cry. But when I started speaking, ten years came rushing back all at once.
For a decade I walked alongside widows. Mentoring them. Building community. Quietly fighting and bringing awareness for them behind the scenes. And now a new chapter, The Cynthia Policy Initiative for Widows is taking this work to legislators across the country.
Yesterday Mayor Charlie Sisitsky recognized International Widows Day and presented me with a citation. State Representative Priscila Sousa the sponsor of HD 1329, joined us as well. The bill is moving through the Massachusetts legislature to protect widows from losing their homes. The Callahan Center, the Framingham Public Library, and the Friends of Callahan made this day possible. I am also grateful to the widows and community members who showed up and made the room feel full of purpose.
This is just the beginning.

Hubby and I at the Miss USA & Miss Teen USA Massachusetts 2026 Pageant tonight. What a wonderful evening to be back in the realm of pageantry…almost made me want to compete again, lol. But I’ll stick to what I do best: mentoring the next generation of queens. 👑✨
It’s pageant season. I’m considering doing a full review of this competition on @thecrownedvoice 🎙️🎥

Last night the City of Framingham recognized Caribbean-American Heritage Month with a joint proclamation signed by the Mayor and City Council.
As a Caribbean-American elected official (born in the Bahamas and with Haitian parents) I was proud to be present for this meaningful moment alongside my colleague District 5 City Councilor Noval Alexander, who is also Caribbean-American.

Friends, I am on the cover of today’s Sunday Boston Globe Thrive “Breaking the Age Algorithm.” The Boston Globe
When I arrived in Boston nine years ago as a widow with a young child, it was only meant to be a visit, to see the snow.
But we fell in love with Boston and decided to stay. I told myself I would create a quiet life, different from the very public person I was in Miami in politics, radio and music. 😂 So I continued to follow my passions. I just didn’t know what that would look like here compared to Miami.
This article is about Boston influencers, and look at what happened. I came to Boston quietly, kept creating, kept reinventing and today I stand here with 2 million followers across all social media platforms, and on the cover of the Boston Globe Thrive. 👑
The article captured something I have lived and breathed, that reinvention is not a detour, it is the destination. Being on this cover also made me realize that I am actually good at reinvention. That we all have the ability to curate our experiences in this world, no matter our age, no matter our circumstances.
Yes, I have been featured in newspapers and magazines since I was 16 years old. But somehow this Boston Globe Thrive cover feels different, and special, especially at 55 years old👑
Cheers to my courage. Cheers to me, the Grande Dame of Reinvention. ✨🥂

Last night I attended our Library Trustee Board meeting. A critical portion of the agenda was the proposed municipal reorganization affecting our Framingham Public Library.
It was our most attended meeting this year to date by the public on Zoom. A true testament to how deeply this community loves and values our library. The conversation was thoughtful and passionate.
As an elected Library Trustee, I am committed to being a part of this conversation and to represent the community that put me here.📚🤍

Today, June 6, is my mother's 91st birthday.
Yesterday, she buried her son one year ago, my brother Michael. I flew to Miami several times to pick her up and bring her to Nassau Bahamas, where he had been hospitalized for two months after a stroke caused by cancer. On June 3, with love in the room, he took his final breath. She buried him yesterday June 5, the day before her 90th birthday.
The first photo is from our hotel between hospital visits. I put her in a robe and made her smile. The second is at the graveyard at my brother‘s funeral the day before her birthday. The third is from the hospital, the first day we surprised him with a visit, and the last day, when we sat in that same waiting room and learned he was gone.
Sometimes I wish my mother wasn't such a strong woman so she didn't have to experience so many opportunities to use her strength.
Happy Birthday Maman. I love you beyond words♥️
