Of all the great apostles and faithful followers of Jesus, none of them was chosen to proclaim the greatest day in Christian history.

It wasn’t Peter.
It wasn’t John.
It wasn’t any of the Twelve.

It was Mary Magdalene — the silent follower, the outcast,
the one described as being possessed by seven demons.

Maybe the worst of them all.
And maybe… just like you and me.

The one whose life was a mess.
Yes, the disciples had flaws — but none of them were said to be demon-possessed.
Imagine that kind of past.

Yet she was the one Jesus chose.
She was the one sent to proclaim the greatest message:
“He is Risen.”

That’s the message of Easter.

That even the most broken among us can be the bearers of God’s greatest news.

So if right now you feel like your life is a mess —
confused, hopeless, and unsure how to start again —
maybe that’s exactly why God is choosing you.

“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed… struck down, but not destroyed — so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal bodies.”
(2 Corinthians 4:8–10, paraphrased)

If you’re asking “why” in your life…
look at your mess.
That might just be the beginning of your message.

Look at the word:
MESS + AGED = MESSAGE

Just like the greatest mess the world witnessed on Good Friday at Calvary —
after it aged for three days,
it became the greatest message:
He is risen.

We hope our breakthrough comes in 3 days,
but sometimes it takes 3 months.
Or 3 years.
Or more.

But the truth is:
It doesn’t matter.
What matters is that each day, we carry our cross,
we carry our mess —
and we walk forward in faith, believing that one day,
God will turn it into our life’s message.

He is Risen.
And He has chosen us — the flawed, the broken —
to proclaim the most beautiful truth of all:

You are LOVED by the RISEN ONE.

If you’re in the “Black Saturday” of your life right now…

Sad.
Grieving.
Alone.
Not knowing where to go,
how to begin again,
like you’re stuck in quicksand with no way out.
The future feels dark.

Don’t be afraid.
Your morning will come — your morrow.

In the Psalms, the Hebrew word for “morrow” implies not just the next day,
but a shout of joy — a victorious cry that breaks through the silence of sorrow.

“Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
(Psalm 30:5, RSVCE)

That morning will come —
and the One who rose from the dead
will be there to meet you.

Even if your heart feels dead —
emotionally, spiritually, or mentally —
remember this:

When Jesus’ body lay in the tomb,
He descended to the depths,
into the darkness of death itself (the Harrowing of Hell),
to lift up all who believe in Him
into new life.

So just hold on.
Trust Him.
Because the new morning,
the new hope,
will surely come.
