Scientology is a microcosm of a huge realignment away from totalitarianism. We are in an era of realignment of power worldwide, moving from systems of control to personal empowerment.
My focus is on bringing in the back story and philosophical implications around the Scientology protests, and the general disintegration of the cult of Scientology.
I have been interested in cults and dictatorships since the 80s when I was an exchange student in Sweden and would listen to hilariously inept Soviet propaganda on the radio.
Then I went to East Berlin many times and made friends with anti-government dissidents there. I learned how the communist East German government controlled people through fear and bribes.
I am fascinated by Scientology because of its parallels to all dictatorships and mind control systems.
