3 CONSECUTIVE POLES for Ferrari at COTA! 🇺🇸
Since the return of Lone Star Le Mans in 2024, Ferrari has been the only manufacturer to claim pole position at the Circuit of the Americas in FIA WEC competition.
In 2024, Antonio Giovinazzi put the No. 51 Ferrari 499P on pole with a 1:50.390 lap.
The following year, in 2025, Robert Kubica secured pole in the yellow No. 83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P, setting a 1:57.655 in a rain-affected qualifying session.
And now in 2026, Giovinazzi is back on top! The No. 51 Ferrari AF Corse secured the COTA pole once again, this time with a 1:52.445, edging out Jack Aitken in the No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA entry which secured an identical lap time 🤯
Despite Ferrari’s qualifying dominance, the Italian brand has only one COTA victory to its name, coming in 2024 with the No. 83 Ferrari.

This weekend at COTA, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be invited to attend the FIA WEC event with Genesis Magma Racing and Hyundai USA, and my first day with the team at Genesis of Round Rock was absolutely outstanding! 👊💯
It’s already been an incredible experience, and the best part? We’re just getting started. 🔥

SEB BUEMI: EVER-PRESENT AT COTA 💯🇺🇸
Four-time WEC Champion Sébastien Buemi has been a constant at Circuit of The Americas, becoming the only driver to compete in every WEC race held at COTA.
From the inaugural event in 2013 through the most recent running in 2025, Buemi has been there for them all, contesting all 8 of 8 six-hour WEC races at the circuit with Toyota and securing four podium finishes along the way.
Now, in 2026, Buemi is set to make his 9th consecutive WEC appearance at COTA, once again behind the wheel for Toyota. 🇯🇵
But remarkably, victory has continued to elude the Swiss driver. His best results came in 2013 and 2020, finishing 2nd overall on both occasions.

Genesis Debuts in North America! 🇺🇸👏
This weekend marks a major milestone for Genesis Magma Racing, as the team makes its North American debut, bringing both GMR-001 Hypercars to the Circuit of the Americas for Round 5 of the 2026 FIA WEC season!
This certainly won’t be Genesis’ last trip across the Atlantic! The brand is set to return to COTA in 2027 for another WEC round, while Genesis is also expected to eventually make its way into IMSA, opening the door for even more appearances at iconic American circuits.
One thing is for sure though! Genesis’ first North American endurance race is going to be one to remember! 🔥🇺🇸

THE LAST 5 WEC WINNERS AT COTA! 🇺🇸🏆
Lone Star Le Mans has produced some seriously memorable winners over the years!
Going back a decade to 2016 and 2017, Porsche dominated at Circuit of The Americas, with the same driver lineup of Earl Bamber, Timo Bernhard, and Brendon Hartley taking back-to-back overall victories in the legendary Porsche 919 Hybrid LMP1.
Then, for Lone Star Le Mans’ one-off return in 2020, we saw a surprise winner. Rebellion Racing took the overall victory with its No. 1 Rebellion R13 LMP1, driven by Gustavo Menezes, Norman Nato, and Bruno Senna. 🇨🇭
When WEC returned to COTA in 2024, another special victory followed. Robert Kubica, Robert Shwartzman, and Yifei Ye took the win for Ferrari in the customer-entered No. 83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P. 🇮🇹
Then, last year, Porsche returned to the top step in a rain-soaked Lone Star Le Mans. The No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963, driven by Kevin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor, and Matt Campbell, defeated Ferrari to claim the overall victory. 🌧️🏆
Interestingly, Porsche’s victory at COTA last year remains its most recent overall WEC victory, following the manufacturer’s decision to step away from the WEC Hypercar program and focus entirely on IMSA.
