I'm pleased to announce that the soundtrack for Battlefield 1942 will be officially released on February 21, 2025.

It's a 2025 remaster of the mixes from 2001 and contains the 'full brief' of 23 cues. The tracks have already found unofficial ways out, but this release will have the best fidelity - so you should check it out! The EA team has dug up the old graphic files and shaped the new cover art.

While this game was in production my initial task was to musically dress a single player campaign and to compose different layers that should crossfade between 5 intensity modes on 4 locations. This particular part of the game was scrapped in the final turns simply because the multiplayer mode was much more fun. The tracks that wasn't included would come to serve as reference and inspiration for new sequels, such as Battlefield 5. The song that became the Battlefield Theme was born with the name of 'Vehicle IV'.

I was 23 when I joyfully composed this music and another 23 years should pass before it was actually released. I will celebrate with Semla and somehow hope that the music lives on longer than I'll be around.

Thanks to Electronic Arts, DICE, Lakeshore, Warner Chappell & to Everyone that has been playing, re-arranging and covering the theme! That's what keeps the music alive!
