Howdydoo to you! I'm back to provide you with the latest news from yours truly.

I talked about the city map I made for APoMM4 in the previous post, and I'm happy to report that I have now published it for both SFM and Garry's Mod! I think other animators will find it useful as well. However, please do note that the Source Filmmaker version *requires* a manual update of your SFM files (I've included a link to a guide on how to do that in the Workshop page description), along with the free Left 4 Dead content pack. Similarly, the Garry's Mod version requires that you have L4D2 installed and mounted in Garry's Mod - you will see errors if you don't. Like last time, a night version is also included.

Anyway, here are the links:

Source Filmmaker: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=346…
Garry's Mod: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=346…

In other news, I have also recently started working on a new Fallout 4 mod! Like the ones before, it will add new locations to the game - in this case, they will be in the Far Harbor DLC worldspace. I cannot hazard a guess as for when it will be finished, but I plan to release it during this summer. The plan is to include 4 new full-size locations and 2 smaller unmarked ones in the mod, along with an unique weapon.

That's all for now! I'll get back to you again when I have more news to share.

How do you do, fellow youth? I promised to get back to you once I have something to worthwhile report, so here I am.

Although I'm no longer working on any animations, I've been keeping busy with other things. For starters, I have now released mansion map I made for A Pair of Moronic Mercenaries 4 to the public! It comes in both day and night flavors, and it's available for both Source Filmmaker and Garry's Mod. Here are the links:

Source Filmmaker: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=346…
Garry's Mod: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=346…

I also plan to release the city map I made for both GMod and SFM, but that still needs some more work. Long story short, there are multiple versions of it with slight differences; the one I was going to use in the movie was "cut down" for performance reasons. I'd like to release the original uncut version to the public, but due to the fact that SFM is a 32-bit program (and thus cannot use more than 4GB of RAM), it needs substantial optimization and performance improvements. Fortunately I *think* I have a way to do that, but it requires me to go over pretty much every visible surface on the map.

In other news, I also released a new Fallout 4 location map a while back! If you'd like to add a little more exploration to your next playthrough, you can check it out here: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/92733

I've got a long news post for you today, so I'll get right to it.

I'll start by dropping the bomb now: after months of consideration, I have decided that I will not continue working on SFM projects. This decision comes primarily from two factors, namely lack of time and lack of motivation (although there are other lesser ones involved as well). I'll summarize what this means for this channel:

- The decision to put in any additional animation work is effective immediately, which means that A Pair of Moronic Mercenaries 4 is now cancelled. However, the maps I made for it will still be released to the public for both SFM and Garry's Mod whenever I have the time to do that.

- Any and all existing videos will remain on this channel for time being. While I'm not particularly fond of YouTube as a platform these days (which is one of the lesser factors contributing to the decision), the lack of a viable European alternative will keep everything here for the time being. If this ever changes, I'll let you know in advance and tell you where you can find the videos in the future!

- I will still manage this channel like usual, so don't worry - I have no plans to abandon it. I don't know if I will upload additional videos to this channel or what they will be like; odds are they will be related to my future creative endeavors (more on that later in this post).

- From now on, I will publish news posts whenever there is something noteworthy to report instead of once every month. I don't want to spam your feeds with worthless walls of texts.

Now, I'd like to thank all of you for the last 15 years - I consider myself extremely lucky for having such a dedicated and supportive fan base, which is even more rare nowadays than it was back in 2010. I'd be lying if I said your positive feedback wasn't one of the main reasons for remaining motivated for so long, but now the time has come to move on to something else. Still, I am beyond grateful that you allowed me to fulfill one of my dreams, and hope that you had your entertainment needs satisfied in exchange!

So, what's next for me? Right now, it seems that mod creation will be my next creative endeavor. Some of you may remember from a few earlier news posts that I'd been making Fallout 4 mods in my spare time; I've found it both interesting and within my skillset, so I think I'll continue going down that road for now. If you're curious about what I've made already, take a look at my stuff here: next.nexusmods.com/profile/Jurttu/mods

Again, thank you so much for everything - I can safely say that I couldn't have done it without you. It may be an end of an era, but it certainly isn't the end of the road.

Stay safe out there!

Oh crap, it's the end of the month again...Well, here goes:

Despite extreme lack of motivation (and time), I've managed to force myself to work on A Pair of Moronic Mercenaries 4. I have to admit that I definitely went overboard when I designed this project - I was so focused on whether I can that I forgot to think whether I have the time and motivation to do it all! I definitely have certain tendency to come up with grand plans that turn out to be too massive to carry out.

I haven't been just slacking off, though: I received a Fallout 4 level design commission in early January, and I have been working on that since then. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say anything about the project yet, so I'll have to keep my mouth shut for now - hopefully I can share something about it in the near future!

Anyway, I'll let you all get back to whatever you were doing. I'll see you next month, stay safe out there.

Merry Smissmass to all of you! It's time for the last news post of this year.

I'm going to start off with a piece of news I thought I'd never see myself: the final issue of TF Comics is out after seven years of complete silence (11½ years after the series started)! The comic wraps up the Team Fortress 2 storyline, and you can read it here: www.teamfortress.com/tf07_thedayshavewornaway/

Fun fact: I actually had a gag planned for A Pair of Moronic Mercenaries 4 where the Soldier and Demoman accidentally blow up a truck carrying this final issue, so now I'll have to come up with something else. Not that Valve doesn't have any *other* things they've completely abandoned, right?

Speaking of APoMM4, I haven't had much time to work on it in December - this month tends to be the busiest of the year when it comes to work. That, and I'm really starting to get old; I have no idea how I managed to pull off 8-hour animating marathons back when I was working on Moron VS Machine 2! Which, believe or not, came out around the same time as the the first issue of TF Comics, Ring of Fired. Time flies, doesn't it?

Anyway, it's time for me to take a week off everything! I hope you can do the same, and I'll see you next year.

As promised, here's the November news post! I'll have to keep it brief, though.

There's not much new to report when it comes to APoMM4 this month: I have been working on it when I've had both free time and motivation to do so, both of which unfortunately have been in short supply this month. I'd be lying if I said sunken cost fallacy wasn't the only thing keeping me going, but I guess that's better than nothing. In any case, what little time I've been able to put into it has mostly involved video editing.

Aaaaand that's it. I said this news post was going to be brief, right?

Happy Halloween to those of you who celebrate it! It's not really a thing here in Finland (despite the best efforts of various store chains), so my only contact with it tends to be the TF2 event.

As usual, I've been working on animating and editing A Pair of Moronic Mercenaries 4 this month whenever I've had the time. I have also done some polishing on the existing animation as well; given that this will be my final SFM video and that I want to end that era on a high note, I want to make it the best video I'll ever make both in terms of technical quality and content. I'm also planning on releasing a preview video on the Steam group, but given the usual December rush with work it seems safe to say that won't happen until next year. There's a certain scene I want to include in it, so obviously I'll need to finish it first.

Now, I'm going to have to deviate from the usual content of these news posts to address those of you living in the United States (if you don't, you can skip this paragraph). I'm going to have to humbly request that you do NOT, repeat, DO NOT elect the orange imbecile as the supreme leader of the country. Trust me when I say morons are only fun when they are fictional, but regrettably Donald Trump is very much real. I understand that changing the minds of his cult members is about as likely as me deciding to make a Skibidi Toilet fan video, so instead I'd like to appeal to those of you with basic intelligence that plan to sit the election out. Go vote - don't let the mouthbreathers tell you what you can and can't do.

Consider this my personal endorsement for Kamala Harris. If you don't like it, the door's over there.

Anyway, that's it for the October news post! I'll see you next month for the penultimate news post of this year.

It's almost October, which means two things: Scream Fortress update will (probably) arrive soon, and I've got an another news post to make.

This month was unusually slow in terms of work, so I've had more spare time than I know what to do with. As such, I've made good progress on A Pair of Moronic Mercenaries 4. I'm getting close to the point where I can start animating the car chase scene, and I have to admit I'm looking forward to it! Not only I have never done anything like that before, but every 80's themed action film needs at least one of those. And if you're worried that it'll take my attention off the most important aspect of animation, don't be - there will be explosions, and they shall be LOUD.

But hey, I won't keep you any longer! I don't want to prolong these posts with worthless filler text; I'll rather just stick to things that are actually worth mentioning.

I'll see you next month, have fun with the Halloween events!

August's news post shall be brief, because...well, there' not much new to report.

I've been doing some on-off work in SFM, but I'd be lying if the lack of motivation hasn't been slowing things down substantially. Nonetheless, I still fully intend to honor the promise I made and finish the video, however long it may take. Sunken cost fallacy is a hell of a thing, isn't it?

It's not all bad, though: despite all the Skibidi Toilet and FNAF garbage flooding the Source Filmmaker Workshop these days, I've been able to find some models that will no doubt help enhance the 80's feel the video aims to embody. I've also found some pretty awesome particles that will help enhance the most important part of every video I make - explosions. And trust me, A Pair of Moronic Mercenaries 4 will have plenty of those!

Anyway, have a nice autumn! I'll get back to you next month.

Another month gone by means another news post, so let's get to it:

As usual, work on APoMM4 continues at an irregular pace. I had more work this month than I expected, so I ended up going pretty long periods of time without working in SFM. That being said, August is usually the quietest month of the year in my line of work, so I'll probably soon have more time to put into animation work*. For reference, right now I've got two minutes and 45 seconds of finished video, with some additional bits of finished animation that haven't been rendered and edited yet.

*not accounting for time that I will spend playing Fallout London.

I would once again like to remind everyone that I'm looking for voice actors that can mimic Soldier, Demoman and/or Heavy. The amount of work can be adjusted to suit the actor's schedule and needs, and I can offer a flexible deadline if needed. So if you (or someone you know) would like to give it a shot, send sample(s) of your voice acting to the email address shown in the About tab of this channel and I'm more than happy to provide extra details! However, please note that due to legal reasons, I can only consider individuals that are at least 18 years old for these roles.

Well, that's it for the news for now! As usual, I'll get back to you next month.
