Today, the President erased the words “pride,” “trans,” and “gay” from all government websites. He signed an order to ban all trans kids from getting healthcare. He fired all trans people from the military. And he joked about overturning gay marriage…

It’s terrifying just how quickly our democracy can turn into an authoritarian regime.

(1) A convicted felon proudly against LGBTQ+ rights and women’s rights

The ̶W̶h̶i̶t̶e̶ RAINBOW House 🏳️‍🌈🇺🇸🏳️‍⚧️ 9 years ago today, the USA legalized gay marriage. Today, our President pardoned thousands of gay veterans who were convicted of having gay s*x while serving in the military. They are now free to get all of the military benefits they lost.

When I was a kid, I was constantly bullied for being gay. When I turned 18, I wasn’t legally allowed to get married. Today, I stood beneath The White House, looking up its 7-story-tall pillars…and I saw a rainbow. My flag—our flag—on our nation’s most important building. 🥹😭🌈

I wish little Josh were here to see this day🥺 But something inside tells me he’s here, smiling and teary eyed at the unbelievable progress our world has made.

We still have a very long way to go, but today and every day, we are here and WE ARE QUEER. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
