You don’t lack discipline. You’re in the wrong brain state.
Life Explained by Dr. Izzy Justice reframes stress, focus, and burnout through a neuroscience lens, not motivation or willpower.
This book explains why high performers can look successful on the outside yet feel overwhelmed, foggy, or constantly on edge, and it all comes down to how the brain is operating under modern pressure.
What you’ll learn: how stress, sleep, attention, and performance are neurologically connected, why chronic overload reshapes the brain, and how small shifts in brain state can restore calm, clarity, and focus faster than forcing productivity ever could.
This is a reminder that you are not broken. Your brain adapted perfectly to the environment you trained it in.
Read Less. Apply More. Change the state, and everything else follows.
Never Stay Broke by Joseph Rutakangwa isn’t your typical personal finance or motivation book. What stood out to me is that it has no fluff, no lectures, and no waiting. It’s designed to be used immediately, written from beside the reader, not in front of them.
One of my favorite passages is on page 10 where Joseph describes how being broke takes over all your senses. It shouts in your ears, rattles your confidence, and wears you down step after step. It’s not just money that’s missing, it’s the sense of control. And that’s what this book is all about: reclaiming the ability to act.
Joseph reminds us that perfection is a luxury. If you’re broke, you don’t need perfect, you need progress. His message is clear: the goal today is motion, not millions. Success doesn’t come overnight like it looks on social media. It comes in steps, in small wins, in breaking the stillness.
I wish I had this book when I was first starting out. Even though I wasn’t starting from absolute zero like Joseph, I can feel the energy he used to claw his way forward and it’s inspiring. Highly recommend this one for anyone who feels stuck or as a gift for someone trying to figure out their next step.
THIS IS THE BOOK YOU NEED TO START YOUR BUSINESS 😤
Now is the best time to be an entrepreneur.

“By Monday, you’ll have a market-tested, scalable business idea and you’ll be an entrepreneur on the path to 7-figures.”
Million Dollar Weekend is the path to creating your dream life and attaining financial freedom.
Side note on the last slide: We had Noah on our podcast. Have you listened to it yet?
2025 was one of my favorite reading years yet. Here are 10 books that made a huge impact on me, in no particular order.
📚 $100M Money Models by Alex Hormozi I haven’t even finished it, but the part I read helped me take massive action and generate six figures in recurring revenue.
📚 Wealthy and Well Known by Rory Vaden and AJ Vaden Working closely with the authors helped me better understand personal branding and how to think about thought leadership moving into 2026.
📚 The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho I revisit this one every year. It reminds me that we’re all alchemists, turning the raw materials of life into gold.
📚 Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara Reread it while planning our big event and then met Will. Keeps pushing me to think bigger about service and memorable moments.
📚 Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir Rachel convinced me to try it. Loved it. Opened the door to more fiction and reminded me how powerful story can be.
📚 Good Energy by Dr. Casey Means Deepened my understanding of how the body creates energy and why so much of our health system is backward.
📚 Exceptional Experiences by Neen James If Unreasonable Hospitality is the philosophy, this is the playbook. It challenged me to level up how BookThinkers serves authors.
📚 9 Steps to Build a Life of Meaning by Rick Walker Clear, simple insights on masculinity, responsibility, and building a meaningful life.
📚 Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill One of Hill’s best. A powerful reminder to stay intentional and avoid drifting into negativity.
📚 The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy My favorite book to read with Levi. Simple lessons. Big wisdom. For kids and adults.
Grateful for these reads and excited for what 2026 brings.
👇 Your turn What was your favorite book you read in 2025? I want to add a few new recommendations to my list.
Most people don’t lack motivation. They lack direction.
Transform Through Purpose by Reed Nyffeler is about stopping the drift and intentionally designing a life around what actually matters.
This book makes it clear that purpose is not something you stumble into. It is something you define, prioritize, and act on daily.
What you’ll learn:
→ How to identify your true priorities instead of living on autopilot → How habits and discipline shape a purposeful life → How to pursue your purpose consistently, regardless of your starting point
This is a practical guide for anyone who wants to stop living by default and start living on purpose.
Read Less. Apply More. Clarity without action changes nothing.
If you desire change this year, read this book immediately. 🔥
“Your Power to Change” by Kyle C. Becker is an empowering book that is your roadmap to unlocking your inner potential and crafting the life you’ve always envisioned.
The decision of when to start making changes is personal. Some individuals thrive on the fresh start feeling of at the beginning of the year, while others benefit from the immediate action and personalized approach of starting now. Choose the path that resonates best with you and your specific goals.
Remember, change is a journey, not a destination. Whether you embark on it today or next year on January 1st, what matters most is your commitment and perseverance in achieving your desired transformation.
The idea that change is rooted in action stems from the principle of cause and effect.
But, our actions trigger consequences, which can alter our lives in both big and small ways.
So, what changes are you looking to make this year in 2025? 👇
Robin Sharma is someone who works harder on himself than anyone in any room that he’s in.
I love that!
I want mentors who are putting in the work, and there is no questioning Robin’s dedication to personal development.
In this book, he advocates for waking up at 5AM to maximize your personal growth and productivity through a morning routine that includes exercise, reflection, and learning. 🚀
Launching this week: Neurogiving: The Science of Donor Decision-Making by @cheriankoshy.
This book is a must-read for nonprofit leaders, fundraisers, and philanthropy professionals. It’s also incredibly valuable for anyone using behavioral science and psychology to sell more effectively.
As someone who loves learning about neuroscience, behavioral psychology, and sales, I thought this was exceptionally well done. I especially appreciated the insights around how wealth influences giving and buying decisions, which is something I encounter often in my own work at BookThinkers.
Cherian brings serious credibility to the table, with certifications in behavioral science from Harvard Business School and AI ethics from the London School of Economics. The research is sharp, practical, and immediately applicable.
