This is Messi at the Beijing Olympics 2008. Him and Argentina won the gold medal then. This is the first clear memory that I have of him and the Beijing olympics was special because our taekwondo star Deepak Bista was also participating and somehow we all had hopes. 2008-2026 and we all lived our time, we aged a bit and our dear Messi is still playing the same. He is still the most impactful player, every single game. He did not become a god figure in this world cup, or the previous one, or during his prime Barca days or whatever in between. He was always a star like he was in this photo. Media was not hyping him like they do now but we could all see the spark in his eyes. You did not have to understand football to notice that. That was Messi for all of us and tonight when the curtains will go down, Argentina will have the 4th star. If you still don't get why billions rave about him, you never understood who he was in the first place 🙂 If you still don't understand why his teammates treat him so special, you never understood that billions like me would also do the same. Don't miss the game because there will never be another human being so special. Even Spain wouldn't mind losing tonight, that's what we are talking about. Brazil feels like they're almost everybody's team. When they play the ball it looks so poetic and effortless. They don't forget to wear their smiles and laughter on the field as well. The difference between the Brazilians and the rest is just that in case any other team wins the Fifa WC; there will be a lot of emotions and we would probably shed tears because it would be big stuff. If Brazil wins it again, they would ofcourse make us happy but with a lot of pleasantness. Like the headlines on July 20 are already waiting to print them as champions. Close your eyes and think of the colour yellow. If Brazil crosses your mind that's it. You are cheering for them just like I am. Three other nations that I will predict to surprise everybody. My club is United and throughout the years many legends have come and gone. When Casemiro arrived to the club, it felt like we got what Real Madrid let go.
